2020.11.24 17:47 beaniemoo [NA][PvX][SoS][Chillax][Casual][New player friendly][Mmm]Intense Pleasure. Returning/vet are welcome. LF West Coast players, night time players

Every guild has a history. Avoid watching videos if you're eating/drinking. You're welcome.

A little too much about us

  • Our guild started with 4 loners doing drunk Dragon's Stand, got caught up in guild politics. We got hurt, left, then went our own ways till I got sick of flicking my bean alone. So I turned my personal bank into this mess. It was just a few weeks before PoF release, but a year later, we climaxed at level 69 and located at Windswept Haven. Our guild hall is beautifully decorated for max efficiency when it comes to daily harvesting. The hall is also boasted with subtle landmarks from different generations of players who have been groomed here before they moved on to other top tier guilds.
  • If some skip getting laid to join a specific guild event, you know how much Intense Pleasure we’re pumping. (Spoiler alert! He still got laid after we discussed all the possible excuses. Win win~). This post gonna be slong. If you don’t read and swallow it all, you clearly don’t deserve us cuz spitters are quitters >:]
  • We have 2/3 inactive, it’s that time to refresh our roster with fresh meat. We tend to keep our medium girth for ultimate satisfaction, minus any complication. Size matters sometimes. TL;DR skim through bold texts for our main info. Requirements for Potential Members and time table waist down below.
  • The guild will not only be a home for me and my homies, but also for filthy casuals and drama free folks. You want to get online and enjoy every a$$ pecks of the game, minus drama? You’ve come to the right place, my friend. Why solo when you can have an extra hand for rubbing? Why run with people nagging like your co-workers? Or who treat this like a job? Why so serious? Come on now. The whole guild thing should be fun! The choice is in your hand. (Prefer a clean one cuz)
  • We're on the thick side, but not overly populated so we have a chance to get to know you from your head to your toe. Mmm We have players from Murica, Snow Mexican, Kiwi, Downlander, some in Pacific Ocean, lurkers from Europe, etc. The fact that people in remote areas try to bypass security to sneak in our Discord while at work; plus, the amount gamer gorls we have are big testaments for how fun we are as a guild. We want to revive that feeling every time we re-post our recruitment. We also make many discoveries that we're proud of. Like this. Or this
  • Our primary goal is to mentor new/returning players, and fuel some passion onto the vets. So we can get to know each other dirty little secrets better while giving back to the community. The more you know about the game, the more you can help yourself and others. This is from one guildie, quoted from our Discord: “i've had the game since early 2013 or 2014 and barely leveled one account to 80 and despite buying HOT on launch i never played it very much at all despite my professed "love" for the game, but once i joined this guild it gave me a reason to play, it reminded me of all the things i had enjoyed and the sense of community that made guild wars 2 special." Some people found their unlucky way to our post on either reddit, or gw2forum. Otherwise, we single-handedly pick our members. So we know exactly what we're looking for and the personalities that suit our standards.
  • Our motto is Play the game, not the meta. Join for the fun, and stay for the pleasure. You’re highly encouraged to run builds that scream your personality, but also work well in a grouping environment. We have an absolutely no repping environment. We have members who rep 98% of their other guild(s) cuz they have to, or get kicked. But they run 83% of their time with us, in-game and Discord. Repping a guild to us is to show off which hole you're from, it shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Although, we lie a little. We'd appreciated if you rep in guild events so we can round up the numbers. Rep is because you're proud to be a part of. And do rep us during childbirths so we can receive the credits. We usually call our daddy for help
  • We're working professionals, scientists, doctors, nurses, drug dealers, strippers, etc. We understand time is of the essence. If you can only play a little naughty every night, you probably don't want to waste time with an unfit group of people. Or worse, end up stressing out in a toxic environment. This is a game. We want to improve ourselves as players but we don't want it to be our second job. Let's have fun getting it on! If there's any heated moment, we talk it out like grown-ups. We refuse to play the cold-war game (aka no talking). Cuz it'll only fuel unnecessary drama due to misunderstandings.
  • We’ve groomed so many generations of players, especially social anxiety folks and loners. We’re proud to bite them lightly, so they could be open to pugging for group contents and genuinely get better and be more confident IRL. When they best themselves, they venture out to high-end guilds, but still check up on us on a blue moon. That’s the type of community we try to uphold.
  • Got a guild website. It's a big, bad, outdated one. Eventually, we're aspired to make it into the like of Snow Crows, but only for casuals, nubs, and funsies uptime so they learn to play the game a little better. Our ancient site hasn't been touched since the guild release and would need a Lawn Mower 3.0. But it has huge base info from drop-down menus. We hope new players find it useful when starting out. Things you can focus on a specific part of the game. Wikipedia can be a pain to navigate. One of our guild mates comments: "dude thisa website is super informative :open_mouth:"

What we do

  • We're passionate lovers when it comes to fractals. The scratching, biting, pinching type of passion. It is one of the most rewarding end-game contents, and open to those who own none of the expansions to certain levels. And doesn't need to spend time organizing like raids. Hence we choose it to be our PvE focus. It promotes team play a lot. Since the guild's establishment, we run fractal training almost nightly, and has trained approximately over 143 people now on different tiers, with pugs and ex-guildies included. Not big of a number but it's some honest work since I'm the only one training. We strike to level the majority to at least tier 3 fractals. So nobody has to pick up groups ever again. We make it easy for people to learn mechanics and start their own journey to obtain better gears as well as yielding better rewards/golds. I personally run fractal CMs train on Sundays. And I could escort you for tier 1 trainings on most week nights around 8pm or 9pm CST. Absolutely no experience, nor gears required to start doing fractals. You don’t even have to be level 80! Yes, you heard me right. Do say something in guild chat/Discord before LFG because we want to run with each other. That's the point of having guildies, right? Bring in the bitches! First day of Slippery Slope instability. 100CM! Omegalul
  • We are chillax sPvP players A lot of us are in gold/platinum divisions, duo/put up against top 30, or on the 250 leaderboard ourselves. Now we mostly play unranked for funsies, especially for daily completion, or occasional sPvP guild missions. sPvP is only fun when play with friends, even if getting killed and stomped en masse. Hey, it's a game, gotta laugh at ourselves on voice comm, or hear the girls freak out and scream cuz they get jumped at. Definitely more fun than a doctor can prescribe for your heart. We're rusty and we don't mind to admit that we are. But if you ever need to learn the basics of this game mode, you know where to find us. We also exchange homemade builds that are so scary none dares to try. Girl finally learns to take "intense pleasure" phone capture
  • We embrace drinking metas/fungeons/raids (Have to adult in order to join although it's not always involved drinking) "Alcoholism not required but strongly encouraged". We run dungeons because they’re nostalgic af. Just kidding. We have dungeoneers who can teach you anything you need to know about sex dungeons, dragons, and more. We're trying to make fucking dungeons fun dungeons a thing again instead of a thing of the past. Because fungeons are one of the best places to test builds, get rekt, or get familiar with a new class. There are lots of achieves and achieve points for doing dungeons too! And map breaking. They're also free access to people who don't own any expansions. Currently we're running them quite spontaneous so all you have to do is ask if anybody runs it, and we shall group up. Here's our take on a drunk dungeon tour.
  • We run strikes at least once/twice a week on all bosses. Once you finish a run with us, you'll get the mechanics down to the T and get ready to run whenever. Strikes are fairly easy as they're a 10-man introduction to raids, with only a few bosses that are kinky.
  • We try to raid To us, raiding should be a big bad orgy with full of laughters. No gear check; however, require matching underwear. (If you happen to wear them at all) Off-meta builds are acceptable, as long as you do your homework and pull the numbers. Or at least know which side of your face to smash against the keyboard. Our stand for raid is simple. There are 2 things. One. We're not Gods and can't pull dead weights. Two. Meta is the optimal standard, but it shouldn't hinder you from joining/learning mechanics. Therefore you can run any class you have your eyes on, something that is not too scandalous of course. We'd help with build crafting if need be. So you will love what you run and it makes learning a breeze. Because there are already enough guilds/groups that force play certain classes. Even if you're new, and you don't have a big wallet in-game to afford these fancy panties, you can still enjoy the contents. We currently are in need of more bodies who are interested in the game mode. That way we can set up a few progressive, or training runs across different time zones. We try to run spontaneous trains during weeknights around 9-11pm CST. Raid time is always our biggest enemy due to needing 10 people online at the same time. Not only that, we know people are very afraid of flaming and toxicity. So we try our best to drag you into the contents with the intention to have fun and learn something new. Hey, if we won't make it, maybe next time. It's no biggie. That's the attitude we want out of you. One of our first music trains~
  • Typical girl missions run on Friday night, starting @8-9pm CST. We want to move guild missions to a different night cuz it overlaps WvW reset night. But most peeps just save that time slot to catch up with us, so we keep going on Friday night. We just think these guys make an excuse to drink. Since we max out the guild hall, we tend to dedicate that time slot into training raids, or doing meta events, achieve hunting, help our with hero point training, etc. Our missions can also be activated at any time, by a lot of members. You don't have to wait for any officer to open them, just ask around and party up. "Guild commendations" that generated from guild missions are great to get early-game ascended trinkets. Hence we keep running missions. Discord is highly recommended for team sexicommunication and explanation.
  • We have bring-your-own-booze events on Saturday nights. Like dis. It's when Discord is crowded with shit and giggles. We promise no satisfaction since our insurance hasn't covered for that part yet. But you'd save 15% or more on car insurance if you switch to Intense Pleasure. And sometimes we do need professional help..
  • So far we've run Dragon's Stand drinking meta, finding Princess, group jumping puzzles, guild races, slo-mo hp trains, Becky wanna smash sPvP night, gambling dates, drunk Arah, card against humanity nights out, yearly secret Santa. In the future, we hope to incorporate guild hide and seek, guild truth or dare, guild karaoke, guild movie night, etc. It's any guild's dream and we're a big fking dreamer. We currently try to get guild dungeons and dragons going. Buy it's tough since people have their own D&D in real life. With each event, we try to invent our own rules to take shots/sips if you're drinking. Or just something to have a laugh at. You can join drinking juices/milk/wateme. No drinkingcism at all. We had 2 casual meet-ups IRL and we keep telling each other if this shitty guild is still up in the next 5 years, we may make it in Vegas!

Potential members

  • 21+. Our bouncers will ID check you upon joining. And in order to apply for the 'Gamer Grill' tag on Discord, you have to send nudes to Deddy. We’re not quite je ne sais quoi “family friendly” that you can’t even say a fucking swear word. We're also not an ERP (erotic roleplay) guild as much as our guild tag implies. Sad, isn't it? But you can use the tag as a disguise to sneak into one of those parties. There’ll be banters, F bomb, C bomb, you name it. We're very classy though, we only drop them on special occasions, or not. There's no filter around here. At the same time, we're not bad sailors. We would somewhat prefer you to not be a very bad one. Definitely not 7-swear-words-in-one-sentence type or we'll use spanking paddles. We keep our Discord clean from porn and too much vulgarity so it's totally safe for work. We have quite a crowd in their sexy 30s while the rest are 23+, hungry women and men. There’s some exceptions for 19 and 20 babes. But, they have to possess either kissable lips or a spankable derrière. [Mmm] We pick a mature crowd so we could hold a decent, rather spicy conversation. Plus, it won't make you feel out of place in a bunch of teenagers when you're sexy and you know it. Anyone at any level, new/experienced, with some unholy common sense. Who want a no stress zone, and a laid back community to play contents together, you are all very welcome. And thank you!
  • DO NOT talk about anime. It’ll likely go on for hours and kill your phone battery. Be careful of the weebs.
  • You're highly encouraged to get on Discord with us. This is somewhat important. We tend to have Discord toggled on while playing. You don't have to join voice chat or anything, just try to be active on Discord text chat for call-outs and updates. Even if we play different games/game contents, it makes MMO an MMO with some communication. Discord remains our source of interaction during the day when we're at work doing NSFW stuff. That's the only way to get to know you before we could group up at night, if any. It's ok if you don't have a microphone; or under IRL circumstances, you cannot talk. We will never force you to do anything you're not comfy with. The ability to listen is a must. Period. Not required but it does make a huge difference in group contents. A lot of us are shy and some mute themselves on Discord, just so they can listen and reply through text chat in-game. It's totally okay. It makes processing info faster and you focus on the things that matter the most instead of typing 5 paragraphs just to ask questions. And that's what we're trying to promote one way or another. So we social anxiety folks can improve little by little. Discord makes training runs/guild missions/most group contents 10 times smoother. And we're here to do group contents, right? We understand wholeheartedly if your voice may cause certain body reactions to us and that's what you're afraid of. Fear Not This Night and let your voice porn be heard! It will give us a chance to get to know you better.
  • We don't judge a book by its cover and have been recruiting people who just turned into new mums/dads, LGBTQIA+, couples, special needs, etc. We'd treat you with respect and we'd want the same in return. One for all and all for one vibe. We want our community to be rich with different backgrounds, stories and even accents. Our peeps are mature oriented, at the same time we don't take shit seriously. This is a game and casual at its best too. We group up to play other games, like D3, Smite, Overwatch, Monster Hunter World, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, etc. But GW2 remains our go-to for the rich lore since GW1, endless exploration, and group events that never get old of bugs. And because of its casual nature, GW2 is very good to play with friends, de-stress after work/after kids going to bed. It's just a great, dynamic, engaging MMO to play when you don't have that much time to grind.
  • There's only one thing to strictly keep in mind is to respect others, regarding of their genders, statuses, races, nationalities, religions, or sexual orientations. We maybe beautiful for our own good but we don't want to be featured in a soap opera series. For that, we don’t tolerate drama, sexism, harassment, or verbal abuse under any case, especially against our female part of the population, in which we have quite a growing number. Ooh and no elitism please. Thank you.
  • Since work/school/quickie gets in the way during the day, we often get online and play after reset. (Reset time is 6pm CST now) So we'll want anyone who can fit these bills: You are always welcome to join <3 even if the time table is not your prime time.
     * OCX night time. * Aussies: 11:30am – 5:30pm ACST Kiwis: 3pm – 9pm NZDT. * NA prime time. 8-9pm CST until 2-3am CST Or 6-7pm PST to 12-1am PST. NA insomniacs, where ya at?
  • Aren't you tired when joining a new guild and get asked to represent them? Like whatttt? You barely know anybody there. Or get face spammed in map chat to join this guild A, that guild B which you know nothing about? What the heck they stand for and what are they doing? If you're a big lurker? And let's be real, you never really run anything with your near 500-member guilds. You're there for the max guild hall benefits and have bodies to do group hugs. Eventually, you'll leave because they’re glorified map chats that your tiny weeny chatbox can’t keep up with. Or end up playing alone too often because your smaller guilds are too dang small to satisfy you have anyone to play with. Smaller guilds tend to have fewer online people at any given time. We've been there done that. It makes you feel like playing solo because there's no one online when you do. Nobody to group up with. Know those feelings quite well, don't you? Time to put an end to all that misery, hiding, and lurking. Come out and play, you * censored *. Although, our thick, medium size might not reflect anything because we have members who are inactive for a millennia. We don't have a heart to kick them yet. We got a rich vein of ore you’d love to swing a few times for extra experiences if our offer is not moist enough already.
  • We won't ask 100 first-date questions. There isn't any application to apply. We get asked that a lot, as to why. This is actually a very simple test. You feel amused, you like what you see, you'd love to sign up even if all this is bluffing. If you don't, you walk away because of this huge wall of text. So yeah, consider us an upscale lounge with drinks on the house. Come on in, chill, have some fun. If we're not what you're looking, our door is open 24/7. There are a lot of amazing guilds out there, you have options, you have more choices. Ask for an invite, we'd provide one. Ask for any extra services, we will charge upon the hour. Jk. We require some common sense. Humor is a plus. When it’s needed, you’re not afraid to get down and get dirty. Ooh baby. We have fun in the allotted time while trying our best for the team/the guild. That's the mentality in almost anything guild related contents. It's ok if you suck _____ (Fill in the blank) But as long as you try your best, we appreciate you. That's all that matters. Don't worry about wiping and failing. It's part of the process. If you read this far (we secretly hope you do), and you've been nodding with a few things being said and soon to be done, that is more than enough to show our chemistry. We hope to expand that chemistry into a beautiful relationship. The deeper the better. (That's what -She)
  • If any of the above hits your Gspot, whisper in our ear your account name (ex: NUDE.6969). Or either let us know your sluttiest character name, or simply comment here if you're an exhibitionist. We cannot wait to bend you over, and do all these wonderful things to you. We know you're biting your bottom lip just thinking about it now. Stahp it. We wish you an incredible day/night wherever the f you are. We also thank you very much for your precious time to tap into this enormous zone post and consider us at some point. And of course be stupidly brave enough to apply. Sometimes people just don't click. We understand that. #feelbadman if it happens between us. If you pass us by, we wish you nothing but the best of luck in finding your one true home. If you have further questions regarding our guild, feel free to shoot them, preferably on the belly. Not the hair! We'll get to you as soon as we are able to. We're waiting patiently for your reply. Until then P.S. Huge congratulations on reading this shit post all the way through. Woooo.

2020.11.20 12:53 mrcp14 Apple ph Guide

Hello just wanted to share a guide for those planning to buy from official online store of Apple Philippines. The following information is taken from my personal experience and from others who have posted here as well.
My experience: I pre-ordered an iPad Air 4 last October 20, 2020. It was first estimated to arrive on the first week of December. When the product was eventually shipped from Apple’s headquarters, the estimated date was moved to November 24, 2020. My iPad got here earlier 5 days earlier, as it arrived on November 19, 2020.
FAQS: 1. How to pay? What to use? First up, you’re going to have to pay in full. You can use any credit/debit card from any bank. The more popular the bank the better. I myself used a debit card from PNB. According to some posts here, if you are planning to use a debit card, make sure that the account has a bit of excess from the product price. In my case, I made sure there was an extra 5k in my bank account . Hindi naman mababawasan iyong extra. If ever you’re going to have problems with your purchase or you changed your mind, and would eventually need a refund, a credit card is the more convenient option daw, as the refund process would be faster.
  1. Can you use Virtual cards (Gcash/Paymaya)?Short answer: NOThis was actually my first choice sana. I called Apple via their toll-free number, and they said any card as long as it functions as visa or mastercard, may be used. However, I think the representative I talked to was not familiar with Virtual cards, like Gcash or Paymaya. However, I’ve seen two posts here, who did use Gcash, and both redditors had a negative experience. They were able to check out products naman. However, I believe Apple had a hard time verifying the payment from these sources, hence, they experienced a very long delay and was eventually advised to cancel the order.
  2. Are are there any additional taxes/custom/shipping fees?None. Free shipping po. The product price listed from Apple store is final.
  3. How to avail of the education discount? You can avail of the education discount if you are a student or a teacher. You can do this by accessing the education store of Apple Ph. But I think this is only for iPads and Macs. Also, iba yung discount natin compared sa other countries. Like yung nagtrend na promo nila couple months ago na free airpods with a purchase of an iPad, that was not available to us. Instead, I think we are given a 5% discount. For requirements, I guess it depends. When I talked to an Apple representative, they said that they would would only ask for requirements on a situational basis, although I’m not sure on what instances. They’ll contact you daw if ever, and the requirements they might ask for could be a school ID or study load, and you could send it through their e-mail. I used my apple ID attached to my edu email and hence, was no longer subjected to such.
  4. How long do orders usually take place?I guess it depends on the order. Pero the longest I’ve seen from what I’ve seen sa reddit was 6 weeks. Usually, the product gets delivered naman before the estimated delivery date, like what happened with mine. Pero in the end, it will depend naman talaga sa supply, your location, and the courier. But expect to be at least a month talaga. Also, if you avail of the free engraving service by Apple, expect the delivery date to be extended.
  5. What was the checking out process and the subsequent waiting like? You can actually choose between checking out via your apple or by guest check out. I suggest you check out with an apple id. Kahit bago mo lng ginawa, cause it will be easier to track your order. So after you check out your product, you can track your order status. Just try to find it na lng sa site. Just take note of your reference number, or just don’t forget the password of the apple ID you used. So what happens is, your product will be under processing, meaning Apple will verify you payment, so this is the time when Apple will communicate with your bank. For me this process took a week. If umabot na ng 2 weeks or more, then I guess you should call apple. Once this is done, your product will then be under “preparing to ship”. Once shipped, there will be a hyperlink on the same page, where you can then track your product on the DHL window.Huwag kayong mag-alala if magkaroon ng shipment “on hold” sa status ng product. This just means that they haven’t shipped your product pa because customs of its current locations still has to clear it. Pero again, no extra custom fees naman. If ever, there will be a problem, I think Apple will contact you. For my experience, my product was noted to be “on hold” in Manila three times, for a total of 6 days, but was eventually shipped naman.
  6. Are the other product likes Applepay and free engraving service worth it? Yung apple pay, I can’t say for sure. It’s pricey pero okay naman cause at least you’re product is insured ableit for a limited time nga lang. But, wala kasi tayong physical official apple store here in the Philippines. What we have are only authorized resellers (iStore, Powermac center). So, if ever, you break your device that is covered by Applepay, you still have to ship your product to the nearest official Apple store, which I guess is in Singapore. So, for me, the hassle is not worth it. The free engraving service naman is cute. It’ll make your product more personal. However, there will be a slight delay nga lang sa delivery date, and also, this could diminish the resale value of your Apple product so kayo na po bahala magdecide.
That’s it. If ever you have any question, you can post a comment and I’ll try my best to answer. Also, to those who have ordered na rin, maybe you can add something to what I’ve posted and I’ll try to add it sa post.

NA data due to 11/14 thru 11/16 case reports not uploaded. Data pulled from various news sources documenting Clark County only specific numbers, and pulled from the SNHD dashboard. Expect weekend delay.
"Daily case counts reflect newly reported cases and may represent cases that were tested in the preceding days, which could significantly impact the count on days when a relatively large number of laboratory reports arrive in one day." SNHD confirmed they are not counting COVID-19 antibody positives into their COVID-19 positive case counts.
Majority of information is pulled from Southern Nevada Health District's COVID-19 dashboard and historical reports.
Our positives are increasing about 900/day, our recovery rate has decreased (85+% range), and our hospitalizations are rising. Protect our vulnerable and continue to practice good hygiene habits, including wearing a mask to prevent asymptomatic spread as mandated by Governor Sisolak (onus is on businesses, which we want to keep open, but Metro will not enforce it; OSHA is responsible for mask enforcement by fining the business). To report a non-compliant business through the state, call (702) 486-9020 or (775) 688-3700.
Doctors are doing convalescent plasma therapy treatments and are seeking plasma donors to help those in need. One plasma donation can help five patients. Blood donors can get the antibodies testing done for free.
FDA states 144 trials of therapeutics are underway to treat COVID-19. 457 more are in planning stages. Remdesivir has been FDA approved as a COVID-19 treatment (10/22). Despite recent studies showing that Remdesivir do not help in preventing COVID-19 deaths. Dexamethaaone is FDA approved for emergency base use. Eli Lilly's antibody treatment, bamlanivimab, receives emergency FDA approval (11/9).
Nevada has been approved for the 24-hour test procedure. FDA has approved a 30-minute and a 5-minute testing procedures. UNLV provides the main COVID-19 testing services. The first at-home testing kit was FDA approved on 5/15.
If you live within a 1-mile range of the Wal-Mart on Craig Rd, you qualify for a drone-delivered test kit to your front or back door.
Some testing sites require an appointment; some may need to be scheduled by your primary care physician or another authorized provider.
More test sites will open throughout NovembeDecember:
Drive-thru testing at Texas Station reopened on 11/13. 8am to 4pm, Thursday thru Monday. No appointment needed, results in 24 to 48hrs (setup your MyChart app account; 3 business day process).
City Serve coordinates testing sites throughout the valley. Testing is only on Saturdays. Schedule a no-cost test here:
The antibodies test was approved by the FDA a month ago. UMC, E7 Health and local laboratories are able to conduct antibodies testing. Cost is normally $149+, but your insurance may reimburse you for the test. Check your coverage first. Vitalant/Universal Blood Services will do a free antibody test for any eligible donors.
UMC is able to process 4,000 tests per day. It is encouraged for anyone to be tested. Symptoms are no longer required. Appointment is preferred, walk-up testing is available.
UMC's testing sites are inside Thomas & Mack Center and Cashman Field Center. They can do 1,200 tests per day, Tues-Sat 8am to 4pm. No symptoms, insurance, or citizenship required for testing. Schedule an appointment online through UMC's website ( A staff member will contact you back to schedule your appointment. According to their reps, there is no limit how often you can get tested. Sites are walk-in, appointment or walk-up. Both sites now use the self-nasal swab test kits.
UMC updates COVID-19 test guidelines:
New guidelines are to save test kits for those exhibiting symptoms.
See all testing locations on the SNHD website.
All CVS pharmacy drive-thru locations also does testing, no cost should be associated with this test. Validate with your insurance. If no insurance, there should be no charge. Requires an appointment scheduled.
Six months ago, the first vaccine was tested. More than 160 vaccine prototypes are being tested. Clinical trials of the vaccine were administered three months ago. Phase 1 & 2 of trial vaccines have completed with positive antibody results. Phase 3 clinical trials started with 30k volunteers; large test size of 3k vaccine test trials in the UK. Africa started their vaccine trials four months ago. Multiple sources stating to expect an FDA approved vaccine by beginning of next year.
Of the 100+ vaccines submitted, 22 have made the cut to go through testing and final FDA approval phases (5/15 briefing). The front runner vaccine is conducting human trails (Phase 3 aka final stage), completion date is pending. AstraZeneca is prepared to produce 2 billion doses once the vaccine is FDA approved. Pfizer claims their vaccine is more than 90% effective; goal end of the year. Moderna vaccine claims about 94.5% effective.
US government is working with four vaccine manufacturers who are in the final phases of vaccine trials, all prepared for massive vaccine output once FDA approval is given. Worldwide, six are in Phase III.
Phase 3 vaccine trials for Vegas has started. Volunteers can call 702-893-8968. Must be 18+. Administered by the Wake Clinical Research Center of Nevada. Source.

2020.11.13 03:16 QueasyAbroad3 Pochette Métis monogram authentic vs TS OC PM reverse vs DHgate Gavin PM reverse

This is my first review, so I will try my best to QC the bags. Below, I will refer to the bags as No 1 and 2. No 1 being the reverse from TS Old Cobbler. No 2 being the reverse from DHgate seller Gavin H.
Disclosure: no incentive or discount given for review
Louis Vuitton USA website 1. TS Old Cobbler, wechat: P99999Lv 2. Gavin_h, wechat: aqw336
Authentic: $1980 + tax 1. Old Cobbler: 11/11 sale $175, DHgate coupon $18 = $157 (includes DHL shipping) 2. Gavin: $81.44, DHgate coupon $13 = $68.44
Payment method:
Authentic: CC on LV web site 1. CC on DHgate 2. CC on DHgate
Order timeline/shipping:
Authentic: UPS two days shipping 1. Contacted on Oct 30, ordered on Oct 31, provided DHL tracking on Nov 2, received on Nov 10 2. Ordered on May 30, sent via epacket, received on July 1
link to authentic
Comparison of the authentic, OC and Gavin’s
Quality: 1. The bag is well made, alignment is good, glazing is smooth and neat. The size and shape is accurate. It is stiffer, heavier and more structured than my authentic PM. It also has a light chemical smell. The authentic is squishy and the canvas is buttery soft to touch. 2. The bag is heavy and too structured. It weights like two times my authentic PM. The chemical smell is bad, but the smell is got after I air it out for a couple days. The overall bag is okay, but the strap is at a lower quality.
Canvas: 1. (8/10)The canvas is dull, but you can get more shine with the help of leather conditioner (-0.5) It is smoother and less textured when touched. The undertone in the monogram canvas is very close to the authentic. My authentic has a brown undertone to it. It’s the 2020 made in France version. The alignment is good, logo is more crisp on the rep than the authentic. I don’t have an authentic reverse piece, undertone looks correct based off online photos. The black leather tap above the hardware covers is slightly shorter, it doesn’t cover the dot of the flower and it is tilted to the left. The black leather on the side where you attached the straps are bigger and longer. The circle where the D rings are attached are smaller. It makes a squeaky sound when you turn the D rings (-0.5). The glazing is neat, even better than my authentic. The glazing on my authentic has some rough edges. The microfiber lining Inside is nice. It is missing the made in USA tap or the line made in France on the leather stamp is (-0.5). In the zipper pocket at the back, the date code is also near the bottom instead of in the middle (-0.5). 2. (6/10) The canvas is very stiff and felt kind of rubbery (-1). The canvas undertone is off. On the monogram canvas, it has a chocolate brown undertone (-0.5). On the reverse canvas, the background color is more a mustard color and logos are darker brown. There is a big contrast between the logo and the background color (-0.5). Also, the alignment is off in the front tap and where the back zipper is. The black leather front tap doesn’t cover half of the flower and the LV logo in the black underneath the zipper should be closer to the zipper (-1). The black leather side tap where the straps attached are too long (-0.5). The glazing is dark brown and not very neat. Inside the bag, where the leather heat stamp is, the fronts are not gold in color (-0.5).
Handle: 1. (10/10) The leather is shiny, it’s the same length and width as the authentic. I am not sure if the leather should be shiny since it is hard to tell from pictures online. The logo is stamped nicely and facing the correct way. 2. (7/10) Not sure if it is real leather, it is matte and feels plastic (-1). It is not as wide and too long compared to the authentic (-1). Also, it is facing the wrong way (-1).
Hardware: 1. (9.5/10) Hardware is pretty spot on and it open and close easily. Old cobbler mentioned on FB it is the Japanese steel lock. It also has the laser engraving, looks nice but not as deep as the authentic (-0.5). The tip of the lock is bent upward. D rings and zipper pull are same size as the authentic. 2. (7/10) The lock is hard to open and close (-2). The tip of the lock is flat (-0.5). Logo on the lock is printed on instead of laser engraving (-0.5). D rings and zipper pull are same size as the authentic.
Strap: 1. (8.5/10) The strap is the 5 holes new model, but much shorter than the authentic. It’s about 2.5 inches shorter (-0.5). It has the same width as the authentic. The stitching are correct and flowers are lined up in the middle. Very nice glazing. Clasps on the strap is wrong. It is very golden in color and engraving not as neat compared to authentic (-1). The hardware has good weight to it. 2. (6/10)The strap has 7 holes. It is the same length as authentic. The canvas is thin, soft, flimsy and cheap feeling (-2). Stitching of the connecting hardware is wrong (-0.5). The glazing is also very sticky (-0.5). Clasps are smaller in size (-0.5). It has no weight to it and felt plastic (-1).
Satisfaction 1. (9/10)The bag is very good for the price. The material is nice. It looks and feels authentic. I hope the canvas will soften up after use so it will be less structured. I like the lock, it is easy to open and close. I can use it interchangeably with my authentic PM so both bags will last longer. I have heard orange couch factory, duty free factory or Ada (luxury1818) has a better rep of this bag, but they cost 30% to 50% more. Since I wasted $69 on the other PM reverse bag which I don’t think I will use. I am reluctant to spend over $220 USD on another bag due to stress spending. Brought too many rep items during the pandemic. OC’s 11/11 deal plus Dhgate coupon was hard to pass. 2. (5/10) My first replica bag from Dhgate before I found Repladies, so I have low expectations. You get what you paid for. For $69 USA, it is functional, it has the look despite the canvas undertone and the weight of the bag. It’s better used as a handheld bag without the low quality strap or replaced with a nicer strap.
Seller communication: 1. (10/10) I sent a message to Old Cobbler’s assistant via wechat, got a response within a few hours. Asked for the 11/11 promotion. The assistant provided a link to pay for and followed up with me the next day since I was still deciding. After I paid, he/she confirmed address with me and provided the DHL tracking in two days. No PSP was provided and I didn’t ask for them. Received the bag in 1.5 weeks, super fast delivery. 2. (NA) No seller’s communication. My first replica bag before I discover Repladies. I just ordered based off an IG review on Gavin’s bags.
I learned a lot from reviews on Repladies. Please let me know what you think.

Kaboo Casino Review

Software and Range of Games

The main attraction at Kaboo Casino has to be the software. It doesn’t take long to see that the operator uses a modern platform with its landing page and things only seem to get better after registering and logging in. The instant play lobby works like a charm while also keeping with the darker style of the online casino. A huge array of games can be filtered by game category or software provider to make it easier to find the gaming options that fit each player best.
With NetEnt, Microgaming, IGT, Play'n GO, NYX, Yggdrasil and a few more providers on the same website, it is safe to say that the gaming collection is out of this world. There are about 650 games in total and less than 100 of them do not fall under the slots category. Amazing titles from the developers can keep the action going without end and it is definitely appreciated to see such great variety. Kaboo Casino is available in no-download so each game is only one click away on the website, with pretty fast loading times.
A good category that every at every online casino player should check out is the one for progressive jackpots. The big slots available here can award prizes worth millions of pounds at once while the cost of a spin is very affordable. Mega Moolah and Mega Moolah ISIS are the big ones, followed by Hall of Gods and Mega Fortune.

Kaboo Casino Mobile

Kaboo Mobile Casino goes very well with the cutting edge gaming platform and there is clearly a focus on making the games accessible on the go. While the collection gets smaller when accessing the mobile casino from a tablet or smartphone device, the total number of options is still impressive and exceeds 350 with ease. The same level of variety as seen on desktop computers is available on the mobile casino and some of the optimized games are outstanding, especially the Touch slots from NetEnt.
Since real money betting can be done securely from the site and there aren’t any native mobile apps to worry about, Kaboo is available on the entire range of mobile devices. The most frequently used ones are Apple iPhone and iPad, Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets, BlackBerry and Windows phones. Not only do mobile players get access to the same bonuses and rewards with Echoes but the mobile payment system features multiple banking methods for deposits and withdrawals from any location.

Security and Fair Play

Kaboo rates very well when it comes to security and fair play. The operator has a few years of experience and everything is properly licensed by reputable commissions. For players from the UK, the British Gambling Commission is the strictest authority when it comes to online gambling and the owning company has an active license to operate in the market. It is also licensed in Malta and this applies to users from other European countries. The RNG used for the games is certified for each developer given the great reputation they have in the industry.
Banking is guaranteed to be secure and Kaboo casino uses SSL encryption for all sensitive information. One issue here is that the deposit options are a bit limited. Withdrawals have a pending period that lasts up to 24 hours for each request and it can take a few extra days after that to get the money in the account.

Kaboo Casino Promotions and Customer Support

Welcome Bonus

It wouldn’t be an attractive casino online without a good welcome bonus. Kaboo now offers a welcome package made out of two deposit bonuses, each of them worth 100% of the payment up to €100 plus 50 free spins. That is a total max of €200 and 100 spins for free. Minimum deposits for this offer are of €20 and the spins are allocated as Echoes, each worth 10 cents, which can be used on all slots.
Although winnings from the free spins don’t have a wagering requirement, the bonuses will have some restrictions to them. After getting a bonus, the received free money and the deposited amount have to be wagered at least 30 times before withdrawing from the account. There is no Kaboo Casino bonus code to worry about since the welcome package is triggered automatically.

Loyalty Program

Instead of the regular loyalty program that many casinos seem to use nowadays, Kaboo offers something a bit more exciting. After registering an account, there will be missions displayed in the lobby. These can be completed to level up and earn Echoes, which is a currency that can be exchanged for free spins or free bonus money. Various types of missions are available for players as they advance on their journey and these cover welcome missions, play missions, deposit missions and explore missions.

Additional promotions can be added to the online casino, although they are not that frequent. Reload bonuses are the most common offer here and they give existing players the chance to earn more money on their deposits. The best way to stay up to date with the latest offers is to log in daily on the casino or just check the email address for new notifications from Kaboo.

Kaboo Casino Customer Support

Contacting the support staff at Kaboo Casino couldn’t have been any easier. The operator offers a very useful 24/7 support function via chat that can be started from the contact page on the site. Just click the button, choose the department you want to ask questions about, fill out your name, email and the starting message and begin the live chat. There is also the option to send a message directly by email and the team will get back to you with a detailed answer as quickly as possible. Phone support is not an option at this time.

2020.11.02 19:02 jsn128 What could have been

If you're looking for a lengthy read at this time of night, here's the one for you 😄
We met last year thru an online dating app. I can easily say the way she takes hours or even days before replying, it made me instantly think im just a backup in case the guy she likes doesnt respond haha (she's unemployed at that time so nothing really keeps her busy during the day). It bothered me tbh but didnt really got to let her know how i feel; go with the flow lang. Dont want to sound too clingy kasi i know girls (at least some) hate that. But somehow, i still think about her all the time. It really killed me everyting she seen-zones me hahah but we still continue to chat.
Turns out she was seeing another guy casually and she even asked for my advise on what to do since the relationship is getting more and more toxic. Inner me wants her to leave him and should date me instead. But i eventually told her to do what she think is best for her happiness. She eventually stopped seeing him. After that, we still continue to chat, but she still took a long time on her replies, while i never go by a day without replying to her..
Fast forwars after some months. She got sick. Not gonna disclose what that was, but there's a chance it's hard to cure but easy to treat. Despite that, it didnt change how i feel for her. I still see her as the girl that makes my day and go heads over heels. Whenever we exchange selfies, i feel like a kid gushing over my crush seatmate. But the best thing about her is her smile. Her smile makes me feel like Joseph Gordon Levitt from 500 Days of Summer, dancing to You Make my Dreams 😆 As much i wanted to be there for her, i feel like she needed more time to herself. I wanted to shower her with my company and show her i can be that guy. I can be that guy who supports you in every decision you make, that guy who will always be there for you in your time of needs. I can be your shoulder to cry on. You can let your heart out for days and i will still be there to listen. I can be your constant.
Then quarantine happened last March and didnt help with the situation at all. She then stopped messaging me since then. But based on her profile, she hasnt been active overall. Then she made paramdam last june/july, saying she took some time for herself and was not really active on socmed. I was just glad i got to hear from her again. I really missed her. But she stopped messaging again, but the status was Sent. So maybe she really is not active anymore. I then looked up her IG (i know, stalker vibes lol) but she doesnt post anything, even on my days. But all those months since we last talked and not a day goes by without asking myself "kamusta na kaya sya?"
Then few days ago, she posted her first my day and ig post. Months after last hearing from her, the first thing i thought of was "she hasnt changed. She looks just as beautiful as a sunset by the beach" She looked so happy with her family. I dont know if she recovered na, but i hope she did. I then messaged her on fb to greet her a happy birthday. But the status is still Sent. It looks like she stopped using fb/msgr all those months. And right now, im afraid of messaging her on ig without sounding like a total creep. I actually doubt if she even thinks about me, even randomly during a day. But knowing she's okay. I feel like that's enough to set my mind at peace.
I still miss her til this day, and hoping i get to hear back from her. I still think about the things that could have been. If maybe i played my cards right, maybe something could have happened between us. What if i outright told her how i felt, would things have gone a different way? But even so, maybe i need to start thinking the possibility that it may be the last thing i get to see her. I since then stopped using Tinder and even bumble. But of all the girls I've talked and chat with on dating sites, she's the most special one. It will definitely take some time to get over her. Tbh i dont know if i want to.. all i know is that i should..
If you made it this far, thanks for taking the time on reading all about my pathetic love life 😂

2020.10.23 10:33 Logiman43 How PIS destroyed Poland.

EDIT: This post is in an article format with pictures and graphs here
I can't be silent anymore. In 2018, out of 1076 abortions in Poland, 1 was because of rape, 25 because it was dangerous for the woman's life and 1050 because of an unhealthy fetus. It means that PIS just totally banned abortion in Poland
Too few Europeans are aware of the depth of this crisis. The current Polish government is destroying the country from inside-out with its nepotism, religious zeal, communistic tactics, social programs and funding verge organizations (or trolls). It breaks every single law, making unconstitutional laws since 2015 and destroying the court of law. How Poland is pushing EU into crisis - rise of populism. The video is 2 years old and now it's worst
PIS staffed every single judicial court with its own people (ending the impartiality of judges). The very aggressive social 500+ program increased the job inactivity of Poles to 48% (48% of 15+ Polish citizens are NEET. Unemployment is at 5-6%). The Job vacancies in Poland are at the lowest level in EU. The corruption and nepotism is rampant, more than 1000 family members and friends are in public companies or in different Ministries. Polish PIS high ranking politicians are also making money together with pimps and mafia (see scandals down there). They are also giving millions of euros from public money to the Catholic Church. They are paying trolls to spew hate on Facebook, via Whatsapp and on the web. Some of them are hiding and not prosecuting pedophiles in the Catholic Church. Poland has almost the lowest innovation in EU. In 15 indexes tracking freedom and democracy in Europe Poland went from an average position of 12 out of 28 in 2010 to 23 out of 28 in 2019. I mean, not to diminish Trump’s “awesomeness” but imagine if the WHOLE republican party in the US was Trump-like. Shady deals, family in the govt, creating discord, staffing courts with their own judges. I’m just mortified.

Destruction of the rule of law.

Some of the passages below are taken from this pdf
No member state in the history of the EU has ever gone as far in subjugating its courts to executive control as the current Polish government. The Polish case has become a test whether it is possible to create a Soviet-style justice system in an EU member state; a system where the control of courts, prosecutors and judges lies with the executive and a single party.
Across Europe, national courts recognise the judgements of courts in other member states, whether these involve commercial law, the European arrest warrant or child custody. Judges must assume that courts across the EU operate according to common values and principles set out in the European Union Treaty and in its Charter of Fundamental Rights. Once judges across the EU have reason to doubt whether courts in any member state provide effective judicial protection, the legal order on which the EU rests collapses.
Freedom house - How PIS captured Poland’s Courts

Constitutional Tribunal changes

It all began with the constitutional crisis four years ago. Constitutional crisis and the destruction of the rule of law In 2015, parliament changed the law on the Constitutional Tribunal, which rules on the constitutionality of legislation. The changes allowed them to annul the nominations of three judges made by the previous parliament and appoint their own. It shortened the terms of the tribunal's president and vice-president from nine to three years. The tribunal ruled the move unconstitutional in an open rebellion, but the dispute remains unresolved. Julia Przylebska - was illegally named the president of the Tribunal court by the president. And now Kaczynski, the PM have meetings at her house. Nice separation of power
There's too much to describe. For further info please visit the link. It is an amazing summary of the whole ordeal. timeline

Supreme Court changes

The European Commission, the EU's executive arm, said one of the most controversial reforms was to do with the Supreme court, which, among other duties, is responsible for confirming election results. The idea was to lower the age of retirement for Supreme Court justices from 70 to 65, but allow the Polish president to grant a five-year extension to whomever they deemed worthy. In 2019, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) — the EU's highest court —ruled this was illegal, after an interim decision ordered 20 already-sacked judges be reinstated. Of course, PIS chose 2 new Constitutional judges, A politician Pawlowicz with communistic past and Piotrowicz, also a politician and a prosecutor that was an active communist during the 80 that prosecuted Solidarnosc. Both of them are above 65 years old.

Ordinary court judges

There were also moves to try a similar tactic in the general court system for judges and public prosecutors, lowering the age of retirement for women to 60 and for men to 65, down from the current 67. Under the reforms the justice minister, who is appointed by the ruling party, would have the power to extend a judge's term. The laws were somewhat adjusted after pressure from the European Commission, but in November 2019 the ECJ shot down these laws, too, citing gender discrimination and political influence over the judiciary.

Disciplinary measures for judges

Another PiS addition allowed judges to be investigated and sanctioned for their court rulings. The disciplinary hearings and procedures were to be carried out by judges selected via parliament. These reforms were criticized by the European Commission because "judges are not insulated from political control and thus judicial independence is violated." The commission brought legal action against Poland on this matter in October 2019.

National Council of the judiciary takeover

In 2017 PiS remodeled the National Council of the Judiciary, which selects candidates for appointment as judges by the President of the Republic. This allowed it, in the short term, to control appointments to the Supreme Court – including to a newly created Disciplinary Chamber, which hears disciplinary cases against judges, and to a new Extraordinary Appeals Chamber, which adjudicates on electoral issues. Over time PiS’ take-over of the National Judicial Council allows it to reshape the entirety of the judiciary. Fifteen of the 25 members of the National Council of the Judiciary were previously elected by judges themselves, as is common practice across Europe for such bodies. These fifteen judges are now elected by the majority in the Sejm, the lower chamber of the Polish parliament. The other ten members of the National Council of the Judiciary are: four members from the Sejm itself (all four members of PiS), two members from the Senate, one representative of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Justice, the president of the Supreme Court and the president of the Supreme Administrative Court. In total 23 of the 25 positions are directly appointed by political authorities.
After the election of the new KRS, a publication of the list with the names of judges declaring their support for specific candidates was refused. The Supreme Administrative Court ruled that those names must be disclosed. However, the Chancellery of the Sejm has yet to carry out the NSA’s ruling. The Constitutional Tribunal (TK) and the President of the Personal Data Protection Office have been roped into guarding the secret. KRS destruction

Muzzle bill

The muzzle bill passed Dec 2019, victimize judges questioning the legitimacy of the government’s legal appointments, saying it is unlawful to “show hostility to other authorities of the Republic of Poland and its constitutional organs or to critisize the basic principles of the Republic of Poland.”The bill also delegalise the preliminary questions to the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU). The bill also allows to fire judges ( which is unconstitutional according to the Constitution). In average Ziobro dismissed a judge every day and a half from its position of president of court source

One of the worse Covid19 laws in EU.

Trampling Fundamental freedoms using a single ordnance and Critiquing the President will land you a year in jail. report.
In the latest special Covid19 law (already 4th lol) PIS smuggled an article straight from a communistic playbook about prosecuting people that critique the president. The sentence can be up to a year. They also smuggled a harsher law for abortions. Can someone tell me HOW it is related to Covid19? source

Political scandals

Illegal presidential pardon

Illegal presidential pardon for CBA chief Kaminski In 2013, Law and Justice (PiS) MP Mariusz Kamiński – who served as head of the anti-corruption agency from 2006 and 2009 – was found guilty of overstepping his powers. He was sentenced to three years in prison and was banned from holding public office for ten years. Polish President Andrzej Duda pardoned Kamiński even though he was still appealing his sentence at the time. The case against Kamiński was then discontinued. A supreme court judge said that the president interfered in the legal process because Kamiński was proven neither innocent nor guilty when he was pardoned, making a future ruling redundant. The judge said that the president can pardon someone after any final appeal has been heard “because then he is not interfering with the judiciary”.

Merging the General Prosecutor with the political Minister of Justice

The general prosecutor role was merged with the minister of justice Ziobro. source. This handed Ziobro and his subordinates greatly expanded power to politically interfere with rank-and-file prosecutors, their decisions, and their freedoms of speech and association. Poland Is Purging Its Prosecutors
200+ public prosecutors that are loyal to the Minister of Justice Ziobro (from PIS) All of them got promotions (or someone from their family) or pay raises. another list

Destroying the military

The creation of a territorial defense unit- a civilian army led by the ministry of defense to control “the situation inside Poland”. In addition, there was a purge of generals. and killing multibillion deals with France. About 37 generals and 47 colonels left. Why? Because they had to answer to a 27-year old assistant to the Defense Minister, former pharmacy assistant without a university degree. The Rzeczpospolita daily newspaper reported that Misiewicz was given a top communications job with PGZ ( largest defense consortiums in Central Europe) that pays $12,500 a month, huge sum in a country where the average pre-tax wage is about $1,150 a month. source
PIS decides to overhaul 40-years old t-72 instead of investing in German tanks. Not enough ammunition, uniforms NVG and other gadget went to the above unit,
In 2015, the Defence minister Macierewicz raided the Nato center in Warsaw at 1am to take control of documents and place their man at the helm

The ministry of Justice is funding trolls to destroy judges

Ziobro-Piebiak paid Troll scandal The Onet news portal published a report alleging that Deputy Justice Minister Łukasz Piebiak “arranged and controlled” an online campaign against Judge Krystian Markiewicz, the head of Iustitia, a judicial organization critical of the government’s efforts to restructure the judicial system, as well as against other inconvenient judges. According to the Onet report, Piebiak operated and financed an online campaign by a woman called Emilia who allegedly sent over 2,000 letters and emails about Markiewicz to other judges as well as to pro-government right-wing media. The messages contained fabricated, semi-confirmed and gossipy details of the judge’s personal life. According to Onet, Emilia obtained Markiewicz’s personal address from Piebiak so she could send him one of the letters.

Taking over the state media

State media was taken over by PIS and is using mass propaganda and here Not only they are a propaganda tube but they also offend polish citizens ie – translation: defenders of pedophiles and alimonies-takers are the ones against judiciary reforms. They call every peaceful protest as a coup
The same can be said about the GUS – general statistical bureau. It is controlled by PIS and it is known to “change” metrics so every Inflation or unemployment metrics can’t be trusted.

LBGT-free zones and Xenophobia.

Fear against refugees and calls for xenophobia. A leaked draft of a new Polish migration policy discriminates against Muslims, ranks foreigners according to ethnicity and breaches human rights
My article Why the Polish government is against LGBT?
PIS is supporting LGBT free zones where a thrid of Poland is declared as LGBT-free. During the presidential elections in 2020 Gay “ideology” is worse than communism, says Duda - PIS president.

Destroying education and HealthCare.

PIS cancels the in vitro program Polish government program that covered most of the in vitro costs was immediately cut by the Law and Justice Party when it came to power in late 2015, even though Poland has one of the lowest birth rates in the EU. Catholic Church opposition to IVF is widely seen as one factor in the Polish government's decision.
PIS also increased the minimum wage at the beginning of 2020. It created a weird paradox where a teacher and a starting MD is earning less than the minimal wage because they get paid from public money and the minimal wage change is for the private sector. And PIS wants to ban sex ed by labeling teachers as gay activists and pedophiles. Critics say Poland’s governing Law and Justice Party is wrecking the education system for political gain — and students are suffering.

Destruction of the oldest European forest in Poland by Minister of Environment Szyszko The Bialowieza Forest is a UNESCO World Heritage site that sprawls across the border between Poland and Belarus, occupying almost 580 square miles of woodland and providing home to rare European wood bison among others. At least 10,000 trees are thought to have been felled in Białowieża, since the Polish environment minister, Jan Szyzko tripled logging limits there in 2016. The EU’s highest court has ruled that Poland’s logging in the Unesco-protected Białowieża forest is illegal, potentially opening the door to multi-million euro fines.
“Our (water) resources are comparable to those of Egypt,” it said in the report bearing the ominous title: “Poland, European Desert”

Nepotism and colleagues in state-owned companies

PIS won the elections by wanting to fight nepotism. The most famous was “24yo Misiewicz, a former pharmacy assistant without a university degree was in the defense industry under Macierewicz. The apparent favoritism has raised ethics concerns in a party that won office promising to fight corruption.” source There is even a webpage listing more than 1000 cases of nepotism under PIS Pisiewicze
Latest data show 162M PLN to 84 PIS oligarchs and Colleagues

Illegal budget for 2017

The 2017 budget "was adopted" not in the Sejm assembly hall, but in a smaller room where the so-called parliamentary session was held immediately as a follow-up to the meeting of the parliamentary causus of PIS, where no reliable counting of vates was possible, and with many allegations taht the opposition MPs were not allowed in. [Constitutional Democracy in Crisis?, Oxfoord, 2018, p.268]

Ex-communists in PIS ranks. And PIS is very anti-left and anti-PRL.

They are accusing the opposition – PO - to consist mostly of ex-communists or communistic party members or collaborators. The issue is that most members of PO fought against the communism and spent months/years in prison in the ’80. On the other hand, the PIS party members scarcely fought for polish liberty and some of its party members are former communistic party members or communistic prosecutors like Piotrowicz! Some Polish TC judge are also ex-PRL members. Here is a list in polish of all current PIS party members who served as PRL members during the communistic era. So, PIS is fighting against itself. Another list with 20 names of ex-party members now in PIS

Funding the Catholic church with public money

PIS is very Pro-Catholic, most of their voters are devout Catholics. So it is no surprise that PIS is funding religious orgs from public money. Since Law and Justice came to power in 2015, Father Rydzyk’s businesses have received at least $55 million in subsidies from at least 10 ministries and state companies. His Radio Maryja station, which reaches millions and is often the sole source of information for many older voters in rural Poland, offers a daily diet of horror stories about a world without faith, where gay people control the political agenda, universities are corrupted by “neo-Marxists,” and the Roman Catholic Church is under mortal threat. Rydzyk Embroiled in Corruption Allegations
Hiding Pedophilia. Map of 259 victims of catholic pedophilia. When a documentary was released before recent local elections revealing devastating examples of how priests sexually abused children and how church officials covered it up, many in PIS saw it not as evidence of an institution that lost its way, but one that needed to be defended. Piotrowicz, the above communist prosecutor, dismissed in 2001 a case against a priest accused of raping six girls.
Polish PIS president Duda pardons a paedophile that raped his own daughter. He makes the pardon a week before elections

Smolensk commission

The so-called assassination of Kaczynski's twin president brother in Smolensk created 90M PLN of costs. PIS created a "cult" around his death and even created a special commission that would prove it was an assassination. Kaczynski was using it on every occasion Don't wipe your treacherous mugs with .... Ofc they didn’t prove anything and they buried the topic. Every 10th of every month for 3 years, PIS party leader Kaczynski was making a "show" commemorating his dead twin brother. He was using the police to secure his demonstration even if he has no lawful power (he is neither a president, neither the prime minister). New law expanding police surveillance and the police is getting raises after raises to keep them happy. The commemorations, the commission and the damages (paid only to the politicians’ families, not to the crew) amounted to 91M PLN.

The welfare revolution

PIS is also very pro-family. The party is giving away 500zl per month for every kid. In short, it has “bought” the elections. The polish economy is unable to sustain such an endeavor roots of populism. And it costs the economy 80B PLN between 2016 and 2019. The best part? Rate of births is negative for the last couple of years and inflation is still growing. According to the PIS Stats bureau it is 3.5% and growing. However, many journalists made their own baskets of normal good and services and the inflation is closer to 10%. Additionally there is a growing debt that PIS tries to hide by shifting some debt into other Funds. One of them is the “Solidarity fund” that is not counted in the overall polish GDP, that is to support people with disabilities will pay for the 13th and 14th pension of people 65+.

Funding propaganda and trolls

Computational Propaganda in Poland: Russian troll factories
PIS bought the Pegasus spyware to spy on its citizens In September 2018, private broadcaster TVN24 reported that Poland’s state audit body, NIK, was questioning an outlay of over 33 million zloty (€7.6 million euro) by the Justice Fund, a government fund to help victims of crime. According to TVN, the money went toward the purchase of a “new system to spy on telephones and computers, the most expensive system in the history of Polish secret services.” Reports that the covertly purchased system could be Pegasus — a top-performing spyware that is impossible to track — surfaced last week.
Polish troll farms promoting Duda and Kaczynski

Funding public TV stations

Polish public TV stations should be impartial and public. Not favoring any party nor government and give the same screen time to every party equally. Unfortunately, there was a purge of journalists the moment PIS won the election and the propaganda is stalin-like. Look at this graph how it changed. Polish TVP is the mouthpiece of the govt. In 2020 PIS voted to give an additional 2B pln per year for 5 years to public tv.
Public Main TV making fun of US ambassador by reading the tweet with a derogatory accent

PIS has hundreds of scandals that each would destroy a modern government. They defrauded billions of PLN over the years, put 1000’s of family members in different state-owned companies. Below are listed the main sexual and financial scandals.
  1. Sex hotel of the head of the Audit office Marian Banaś , a Law and Justice (PiS) politician and recently appointed chief of Poland’s Supreme Audit Office has been heavily embroiled in a corruption scandal, another to hit the ruling party just weeks before the country votes in a parliamentary election. Mr Banaś served as finance minister from June to August this year, and is a key figure in the party. Mr Banaś concealed his possession of a tenement house in Krakow from his financial disclosures. This property was then revealed to have deep running connections with a local, criminally-run escort agency. He claimed that the house was given to him by an old friend whom he met in the Home Army, which he then renovated. In his disclosures, he claimed he would sell the house, which never happened. Banaś claims that this was due to the buyer’s inability to get a loan. Investigations have further revealed that Mr Banaś agreed to rent the property for 5000 zloty a month, 10,000 zloty lower than its estimated market value, according to Gazeta Wyborcza. Just as the scandal could not apparently get any worse for Mr Banaś, further investigation by journalist Bertold Kittel revealed criminal links. When Mr Kittel entered the property he found at the reception an infamous Krakow criminal known as one of the brothers K – Wiesław or Janusz, who control escort agencies in the region. While still under investigation, there have been suggestions of contact between the two.
  2. "Alleged" Pedophila and Sex trafficking scandal of House speaker Wirtualna Polska learned the contents of the message of CBA officer Wojciech J. to the prosecutor's office about the failure of the head of the CBA, Ernest Bejda. In the background is a lost record with a recording of one of the leading PiS politicians who should have sex with a minor Ukrainian girl lost. His name falls on the document. In the message, Wojciech J. refers to several reports that he was the head of the office in connection with the "unauthorized access to his armored cabinet during his absence" submitted. From this vault, a record should be lost in escort agencies from the Podkarpacie region. One of the leading PiS politicians should have sex with a young Ukrainian in the recording. The statement signed by lawyer Beata Bosak-Kruczek mentions the name of Sejm spokesman Marek Kuchciński.
  3. Health minister Szumowski alleged to have bought £1m of PPE from ski instructor friend during pandemic. And givng away £65m grants to companies run by brother public anger has exploded after Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza reported that Szumowski bought masks with fake certificates from a skiing instructor who is friends with his businessman brother, Marcin. Poland’s Health Ministry reportedly spent five million zloty (£1m) on 120,000 FFP-2 type face masks and 20,000 surgical masks that were later found not to meet safety standards, Politico says. The company that sold the masks was registered on the 30 of March and won the govt. contract on the same day. Critics have also questioned Szumowski’s previous dealings in government. Polish news network tvn24 reports that while serving as deputy science minister in 2016-17, he gave 300 million zloty (£60m) in grants from Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) to OncoArendi Therapeutics, a research company run by his brother. Another company in which Szumowski was a shareholder, Life Science Innovation (LSI), was reportedly given a 24 million zloty (£5m) NCBR grant just days after he took up the ministerial post.
  4. Same Health minister Szumowski bought 1.2 thousand ventilators for PLN 200 million from a company owned by an arms dealer, not a single device was delivered

Antes do Google

Antes do Youtube

Aconselho a toda a gente.

Nos anos 90 era mesmo só ir a sites tipo o da Playboy e ver gajas nuas. Resumia-se a isso. Fotos de gajas. Não se usava cá sites com vídeos. Víamos umas mamas e estava a andar. Naquela época ver mamas era de loucos. Acho que hoje em dia para sentires a emoção de ver mamas na internet nos anos 90 terias de encontrar um OVNI com ET's lá dentro. A banalização matou muitas emoções.

Dificilmente te baniriam do Terravista. Tipo:
User A: Então, e que curso queres tirar?
User B: Estou a pensar em psicologia
User A: Também gosto muito. A minha irmã tirou o mesmo curso. Para que universidade vais?
User B: Em princípio universidade do porto. E tu?

Tornei-me no lider absoluto do canal. Bons tempos.

Consoante ganhavas, ias subindo no ranking.

2020.10.17 10:16 CrofterNo2 "The Beast With the Breath of Hell": Giant Ground Sloths in the Amazon

Six families of prehistoric ground sloths are now recognised: Megatheriidae, Mylodontidae, Nothrotheriidae, Megalonychidae, Scelidotheriidae, and the Carribean Megalocnidae. First discovered at the end of the 18th Century, much is known of the appearance and lifestyle of many species. Generally they were very robust, vaguely bear-like animals with wide tails, strong claws, and the ability to walk quadrupedally and bipedally. But they were highly adaptable: by the end of the Pleistocene, several dozen species existed in South America, including the largest ever, and their Pleistocene range stretched from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska. Throughout the ages, some browsed, some grazed, some swam in coastal seas or freshwater, some burrowed, and some lived in trees or on steep cliffs. Some families spread to North America before the Great American Interchange, and when animals from the north invaded, they were unaffected—until one last animal moved south some ~12,000 years ago.
Given their adaptability, is it possible that at least one species may have survived into modern times? Since their discovery, many people have believed so. But where's the best place to look for them? For most of the 20th Century, the answer to that was Patagonia, thanks to sightings reported mainly by the Argentine palaeontologist Florentino Ameghino. But in On the Track of Unknown Animals (1955), Bernard Heuvelmans suggested that the tropical forests of the Amazon and the Andes, not Patagonia, were the place. Noting that the ground sloths were likely wiped out (?) by overhunting, he asked...
[...] what has happened to them in their impenetrable retreat in the vast Amazonian selva and the boscosa of the Andes, through which they passed in the course of ages? It is hard to see what, in the peace of these forests rarely inhabited by man, could have led to their extinction. Only human traps were able to put an end to these armoured brutes against which beasts of prey were powerless. Might they not still live in this 'green hell' and find it a heaven of peace?
But Heuvelmans attributed most stories of hairy humanoids in the Amazon to primates, and it would be 38 years before his question was seriously considered in print.
Mapinguari, stinking beast of the Amazon
American ornithologist David Oren arrived in the Brazilian Amazon in 1977, and immediately began to hear stories of various forest myths. One of the most common of these was the mapinguari, which had been covered by Heuvelmans and by Ivan T. Sanderson, and which they had believed to be a giant primate. To Oren the mapinguari initially appeared to be just another part of the folklore of the rainforest: for every person who claimed to have seen it, four mocked the idea that it could be real, as did the alleged eyewitnesses prior to their own experiences.
The mapinguari was a creature of the seringueiros, or rubber-tappers, but even during the silver age of the rubber plantation it was not taken seriously by others. The modern folkloric-pop cultural version is a huge cyclops with a mouth in its stomach, and is not too different to the very earliest descriptions (the earliest use of the term I can find dates to 1896, where it's called an evil Tupi spirit). But a 1913 newspaper article on the subject also mentions the macaco de borracha, or rubber monkey of Acre, an animal covered in long and tangled hair which repels bullets. The macaco de borracha was the size of a Newfoundland dog when on all fours, but was taller than a man when standing upright on its hind feet. And in 1960, a cabloco took issue with a newspaper repeating the traditional description of a giant man, claiming that the mapinguari was really a sort of huge and horrifying horse-like animal. He said that such an animal had recently been seen by men working on "the road which will link Acre to Brasilia". Nevertheless, when cattle were found dead with their tongues missing, the mapinguari was often blamed; this and a 1930 sighting of a monkey-like mapinguari on the Urubu River, reported in On the Track of Unknown Animals, cemented the mapinguari as the Brazilian Bigfoot.
By the time of David Oren's arrival, rubber had given way to gold, and many of the first mapinguari reports he heard came from gold prospectors and mine employees. The fact that there were reliable modern accounts of such an animal was first brought to his notice by historian David Gueiros Vieira, who had collected several sightings from gold miners while he was in charge of Serra Pelada in Pará. During his discussions with Vieira in 1988, Oren heard a first-hand mapinguari sighting from northern Tocantins which, he has often said in interviews, made a light go off in his head: "this creature could only be a ground sloth!" He has subsequently collected around 100 first-hand sightings which he believes describe the same animal (even the published sightings are too numerous to detail here), from the states of Amazonas, Acre, Mato Grosso, Pará, Amapá, Rondônia, and Tocantins, and as of 2001, he had also interviewed seven hunters who claimed to have killed specimens.
Based on the hunters' descriptions, the mapinguari is a very heavy, powerfully-built animal, up to two metres (6'6'') tall when standing bipedally, and weighing enough to break the roots of trees with its steps. It is covered in long and coarse fur which ranges in colour from reddish to brownish to blackish, sometimes said to be longer, mane-like, on the neck and back; and has a muzzle similar to that of a horse or a burro, though shorter, which is armed with four peg-shaped canine teeth. Its formidable claws are shaped like those of the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), but are the size of those of the giant armadillo (Priodontes maximus), that is, between 7'' and 8''. It is said to be nocturnal and crepuscular (i.e. active at night and twilight), and feeds on vegetation including bacaba palms (Oenocarpus bacaba), which it twists to the ground and tears apart in order to feed on the palm heart and berry-like fruits.
Two distinct types of vocalisations were described to Oren. The first is a low call reminiscent of thunder, while the other is a very loud and impressive, higher-pitched cry "just like a human shouting," but with a growl at the end. When shot, it produces an "extraordinarily loud, human-like scream." A very strong and unpleasant smell is frequently described, compared to a mixture of faeces and rotting flesh; garlic vine (Mansoa alliacea) and a foetid peccary; or simply described as "just the worst odor they ever smelled." The smell leaves people light-headed and nauseous, or even renders them unconscious. A foul odour is a common feature of mythical South American monsters, but in this case it is clearly a genuine characteristic of the animal.
Another folkloric trait which also occurs in sightings is the mapinguari's nigh-invulnerability to bullets and arrows, unless hit in the navel, the eye(s), the mouth, or sometimes elsewhere on the head. Hunters who claim to have shot specimens say they used special solid lead shotgun slugs fired at the head; a special shot used for hunting tapirs fired at the navel from a .16 calibre shotgun; and all the bullets of a .38 caliber revolver, emptied into the chest.
According to Oren, two kinds of tracks are attributed to the mapinguari. The first, and most common, are as "round as a pestle" (like those attributed to the folkloric pé de garrafa) and are found in the ground around vegetation and faeces even during the dry season, when the earth is baked hard. The second tracks are "like people's, but backwards," with only four toes. The mapinguari's faeces were always described to Oren as "just like horses," and are said to contain poorly-broken down, recognisable plant matter such as leaves and stems. Of all the Amazonian mammals, only the South American tapir (Tapirus terrestris) produces similarly horse-like faeces, but this animal usually defecates in water, whereas supposed mapinguari dung is found on land.
One important sighting was made by a gold prospector who told Oren that a reddish "giant monkey" had charged at him in the forest, and that he only had time to shoot the animal in the face before fainting. When Oren investigated the area, he found a pool of blood and "round paw-prints with marks of clawed toes pointing inwards". This was no monkey, giant or otherwise, but the fact that this clawed animal, whatever it is, has been called a monkey should be kept in mind.
Given the amount of sightings, and killings, on record, why has no proof of the mapinguari's existence come to hand? Besides its rarity, its jungle habitat, and the terror in which it is held, the problems of preserving bits of a mapinguari are best illustrated by the following incident: a seringueiro hunting in the woods, startled by a human-like shouting behind him, swung 'round to see an angry-looking, hulking animal standing on its hind legs. Though he shot and killed it, the smell permeating the area was so stupefying that the hunter wandered aimlessly for some hours before coming to. Then he cut off the animal's front paw to show his brother, but this also smelled so badly that he threw it away into the forest. A more conservation-friendly spin on this occurred in the '80s, when some Kanamarí Indians living in the Rio Juruá valley allegedly raised two baby mapinguaris whose mother had been scared off or killed by hunters. The Kanamarí fed them on bananas and milk before they progressed to foliage, but after a couple of years the smell became too much to bear, and the Kanamarí released them. The story is not unique—three hunters claimed to have captured living mapinguaris, but all three animals escaped because their captors were unable to bear the stench.
Oren himself led several expeditions in search of the mapinguari, but all the evidence he collected was inconclusive, or identified as something else. Four times on two separate occasions, in the afternoon and early night, Oren heard (and recorded, according to some sources) a mapinguari-like call, described by himself as being extremely strong and of steady pitch, lasting for up to forty-five seconds, and resembling "jets flying over low." He also made a cast, about an 1'' deep, which shows a knuckle-walking track with three digits; and photographed "claw marks on a tree, eight of them about a foot long and an inch deep," which may have been made by a mapinguari. However, results of testing of alleged mapinguari dung were inconclusive, and in one case some fecal matter collected by Oren was identified as giant anteater or tapir dung. Conversely, and dubiously, geneticist John Lewis claimed to have extracted ground sloth DNA from alleged mapinguari faeces which he stepped in during a 2001 expedition to Brazil.
Although Oren writes that the well-known single eye and stomach-mouth appear predominately in legend and popular culture, not usually in first-hand sightings, unfortunately the latest recorded sighting, a dubious one from 2014, does indeed describe a cyclopean monster. The latest known incident of any kind came in 2016, when residents of Gleba Vila Amazônia claimed to have discovered large mapinguari footprints near the road from Vila Amazônia to Cabeceira do Inferno, on the banks of Lake Zé Açú. Other residents believed the tracks were made by a giant monkey.
Another beast which Oren synonymises with the mapinguari is the juma, a 10' tall hairy humanoid seen near Valéria (where a mapinguari was reported in 1981) in the '90s. According to Oren, almost every Amazonian Indian language has a name for what we call the mapinguari, but only a few of these names have filtered through. These regional mapinguaris of Rondônia, the Andes, and the northern Amazon will be discussed in the following sections.
The Rondônian mapinguari
More gold prospectors were said to have killed a mapinguari in Rondônia, about two days by foot from Porto Velho. This must have been very close to the Karitiana reservation, which is centred on the village of Kyõwã. The Karitiana version of the mapinguari is called the kida harara or kida so'emo, but is often synonymised with the mapinguari, including by most of the Karitiana. They believe that it lives southwest of Kyõwã, in the Floresta Nacional do Bom Futuro, where it inhabits the "Cave of the Mapinguari," which is also home to enormous vampire bats. Interestingly, one of their alternate names for the animal is o'i ty, meaning "giant sloth". But is this term their own invention, or was it introduced by visiting cryptozoologists? After all, the kida harara has been investigated by cryptozoologists for some time. The first appears to have been Hilton Pereira da Silva, whose research was televised in a '90s episode of Into the Unknown. While he found nothing in the Cave of the Mapinguari, he was told that a hunter named Valdemiro had seen the animal by the cave. Valdemiro had been startled by a "terrifying cry" when the animal emerged, balancing on the sides of its feet and holding its claws inwards.
The kida harara's description may have been 'polluted' by descriptions from people who don't claim to have seen it, but, generally, it is said to be a large creature, with a big head just like a sloth's, but with long teeth; huge arms armed with hook-shaped claws; big ugly feet; and red or black hair all over except (sometimes) for the chest and face, which are covered in smooth skin. All accounts describe it as noxious-smelling and extremely noisy and destructive, screaming and groaning, smashing trees and leaving tractor-like trails, and its bulletproof hide is attested by several first-hand experiences. Interestingly, its invulnerability is attributed to lots of little pebbles beneath its skin, a very appropriate description of a mylodontid's osteoderms. Nocturnal, it is said to sleep standing upright, and shuffles its feet as it walks through the woods, making the earth shake. It tears apart babassu palms, which it likes to eat, and also fells other trees... but it isn't a harmless herbivore, since it's reputed to "bear-hug" people to death like an anteater, or even to tear off their arms and legs.
As with the mapinguari itself, there are too many sightings to detail, although as of 2006 the kida harara was frequently heard in the forest, during the night. Sometimes it was briefly mistaken for a giant anteater, sometimes it was seen in streams, and on one occasion it caused the evacuation of Kyõwã when it wandered into the village. Several other sightings are recounted in Destination Truth ("Sloth Monster") and Beast Man ("Nightmare of the Amazon"). Both of these investigations also recorded ambiguous evidence — Josh Gates recorded a very quiet, but apparently unidentifiable call, and heard a palm being torn down nearby; while Pat Spain believed he heard a response to his blasted mapinguari call, which may or may not have been picked up by the microphones.
But the most famous sighting of the kida harara was the one reported by Geovaldo, a Karitiana hunter who claimed to have been approached and knocked out while stalking peccaries, sometime around 2004. His story was confirmed by his father Lucas, who said that when his son took him back to the site of the encounter, he saw a pathway where the creature had departed through the bush, "as if a boulder had rolled through and knocked down all the trees and vines". However, perhaps due to either translation issues or gradual exaggeration, different versions of this story have been given. Interviewed for Destination Truth, Geovaldo said that he shot at the animal, and ran off when it charged at him. On Beast Man, he claimed to have fired at it multiple times before loading his gun with a lead slug, and firing at the animals face, making it stop and scream in pain, and allowing Geovaldo to escape.
Beast Man's Pat Spain interviews Geovaldo using an "animal identity parade" of photographs, and included among native and non-native animals is a photograph of Rusty the Megalonyx. Geovaldo unhesitatingly nods and identifies it as very like what he had seen, stating that "it was kind of like that. I think that was the animal. I really think that looks like it. Its arms were just like that." One difference he notes is that the claws on what he saw were similar, but even larger—other than that, it has the same body, the same arms, and the same face. It's a powerful scene, and the moment that sparked my personal interest in the mapinguari. But of course, Geovaldo's reaction doesn't mean the kida harara really was a Megalonyx, or even a ground sloth at all, only that it looked like that particular concept of Megalonyx. The really useful thing is knowing what Geovaldo definitely didn't see—it wasn't an anteater, elephant, rhinoceros, spectacled bear (no reaction from Geovaldo), or gorilla ("some sort of monkey?"). Regardless of whether or not you believe his story, spectacled bears and apes are alien to this Karitiana hunter.
Sloths in the Andes
In Acre, near the Peruvian border, Oren was told that the mapinguari is migratory, descending from the Andean foothills around February. It's sometimes thought that it moves into the Andes to avoid the flooding of the rainy season. Whatever the case, some of the best and earliest-published reports of ground sloths come from the forested eastern slopes of the Andes.
While doing field work in Macas, Ecuador, in the 1990s, cryptozoologist Angel Morant Forés was told by local Shuar people of a bear-like animal, the ujea, which reminded him of a ground sloth, but he couldn't find anyone who claimed to have seen a ujea for themselves. This creature inhabits an obscure border region between cryptozoology and folklore—sometimes considered a demon, sometimes a long-vanished monster, it has been described as a huge and man-eating ape-like beast. But the most interesting description was given by a Shuar to this traveller, who also received a drawing of the ujea.
The ujea is a weird mix between a bear and a human. Apparently the Shuar used to hunt these. As you can see in the picture the stench was enough to knock a grown man unconscious. These aren't dangerous to humans as they eat the nectar of flowers.
The foul smell, an obvious point of similarity with the mapinguari, is not unique to the ujea among Shuar monsters. But the drawing does depict it as rather sloth-like, with shaggy red hair on its head and back, a long tongue, and strongly hooked claws. However, note that it's said that "the Shuar used to hunt these"—used to. Why stop, unless the animal has vanished?
On the other hand, was the ujea the same animal that a huaquero from Quito claimed to have seen in the subtropical cloud forests of the Ecuadorean Andes in the 1980s? According to the account he gave to cryptozoologist J. Richard Greenwell, he saw a large and unfamiliar quadruped, about 10' long, covered in shaggy hair, and sporting a large horse's snout, emerge from a forest cave. As it was coming towards him, the terrified huaquero prayed to the Virgin for help, but the animal simply reared up onto its hind legs and began to browse on the surrounding vegetation. Greenwell believed the man's story, judging him capable of properly evaluating an animal's size and appearance from some distance. In fact, his life habitually depended on this skill—his other job was that of a bullfighter!
A lot of people will be familiar with the idea of mapinguaris in Peru because of Forrest Galante's claims about a "Mapinguari Valley," but the only known aboriginal Peruvian name for the animal is the Machiguenga segamai of the Vilcabamba Mountains. This is described as a cow-sized animal which can walk both quarupedally and bipedally, with dark matted fur (specifically said to resemble the fibers surrounding the leaf stems of an Oenocarpus bataua palm) and a snout similar to a giant anteater's. It's said to live in caves in the remote cloud and foothill forests, where it feeds on Cyclanthaceae plants and palm piths. The Machiguenga are terrified of it due to its reputedly aggressive behaviour, and it has a number of characteristics in common with the mapinguari: it is said to be impervious to bullets, has a terrible roar, and supposedly generates an odour or field which stupefies or knocks out anyone who comes close to it. Interviewed on Beast Man, anthropologist Glenn Shepard Jr. added that that the Machiguenga reported seeing large claw marks, which they believed had been made by the segamai, on trees.
A sighting made from a distance was reported to have occurred in around 1976, and as of 2001, the Machiguenga insisted that the segamai still lived in certain areas of the forest, where they saw it as just another wild animal. Shepard suggested to them that it might be a bear: the Machiguenga, who knew spectacled bears well, "expressed great surprise and affirmed that the two animals are completely different". One of the tribe matter-of-factly told him that he had seen a segamai at Lima's Natural History Museum when he was a student, and when Shepard checked, he discovered that the museum had a diorama featuring a model of a giant ground sloth. But there's a disconcerting sequel to this story: the student had never seen the segamai himself, and had previously assumed it to be mythical. So despite the belief that the segamai still lived in the forest, the younger generations of 2001 did not believe in it, showing that it had become very rare... or worse.
Also from Peru, we have a very dramatic story collected by Hermes Mendoza Del Aguila, which tells of a very mapinguari-like "giant sloth" termed "engendro verde" being killed by soldiers. The story is presumably only a folk tale, but it demonstrates that the mapinguari archetype is familiar in the Peruvian Amazon.
Luis Jorge Salinas has collected a 1985 sighting from Bolivia, near Iñapari on the Bolivia-Brazil-Peru border, and Bolivia is in fact home to its own supposed version of the mapinguari: the bipedal jucucu, a name immediately reminiscent of jukumari, ucumari, and ukuku, terms applied to the spectacled bear in Bolivia and Peru. But is this because the jucucu is a bear, or just because a bear is the closest thing the locals know of? Casey Anderson investigates the jucucu on Monster Encounters, and while I haven't been able to watch the episode, or find anyone who has, some details are provided in the episode's dramatic trailer. Anderson's probably right about undiscovered 'monsters' prowling the Amazon, but taking the illustration, the livestock-killing, and the brief glimpse of a bear at face value does reinforce a bear identity for the jucucu itself, despite the massive size and the foul smell (a possible conflation with the mapinguari on the part of the Travel Channel?). And what are we to make of this reference from Simon Chapman's The Monster of the Madidi (2001), describing an animal which was not a spectacled bear, but was far too large for a monkey?
With the Mono Rey, I'm not so sure. But, I was told there are two sorts. One is black and a bit smaller than me. The other has brown hair and is two and a half metres tall. Now that is not the Ucumari I saw. All that selva — the Beu, the Chepite, the Madidi. No one has been to most of it. Anything could be there.
Sloths north of the Amazon
While the best evidence comes from regions south of the Amazon River, the mapinguari has also been reported from the tropical rainforest in the north. In fact, some of Oren's accounts, all of them old sightings from elderly woodsmen, come from Amapá in northeastern Brazil, bordering French Guiana. Although many published sightings from immediately north of the river are undetailed or more reminiscent of primates, one atypical sighting was that of Luis Jorge Salinas, who went on to become a prominent investigator of the mapinguari and similar cryptids.
According to his book Amazonas: ¿Pleistoceno Park? Un Testimonio Real (2010), Salinas first encountered a mapinguari while working on a roadside farm 38 kilometers from Manaus when he was 24 years old, between May 1985 and May 1986. At that time, he and the farm's other inhabitants were troubled by a frequent nighttime howling, "impressive, mournful, and frightening," which some locals believed were made by a lobisomem or "paçalobo," superwolf. Salinas shot a young one of these animals in the face when it approached the farm one night, driving it into the forest and perhaps killing it. Later on during the same night, Salinas claims to have observed a much larger individual of the same species standing where the shooting had occurred, roaring. Some time later, Salinas observed a group of individuals composed of a male, several females, and a young calf, moving down the road, apparently keeping in order by toad-like vocalisations and head bobbing. They entered a mango plantation to feed on the trees, the females feeding the calf by cutting up small pieces of food in her mouth. The herd disappeared into the trees after being disturbed by a group of passing people from another local farm, but Salinas claimed to have seen them again on two other occasions not long afterwards. Salinas has rejected the idea that these animals were bears, and according to him, they most closely resembled this reconstruction of Megalonyx wheatleyi. He described a few unique features, such as humped backs, "tortoise-like" necks, and bare chests and abdomens; and he compared their unsteady gaits to Charlie Chaplin's famous waddle.
Richard Terry of Man v. Monster collected accounts from near the Venezuelan border, the region from which Jaroslav Mareš heard of the more monkey-like version, which travels in pairs. And explorer-cryptozoologist Arnošt Vašíček reports that "nomadic Indians" of the Orinoco Basin claim to have seen a sloth alleged to be a whopping 16' long, which uses its great claws to pull down branches and dig up roots.
Furthermore, the animal seems to be known to Venezuela's most famous people, the Yanomami. While visiting a Yanomami village in southern Venezuela, Gustavo Sánchez Romero produced a set of animal flashcards, which some of village's boys and women began to identify. Alongside normal animals, Sánchez Romero had included a card showing a ground sloth, and, although most failed to recognise it, four people exclaimed at once: "owhuama!" The owhuama, they explained with minimal prompting, is a sturdily-built, hairy animal with strong-clawed arms powerful enough to tear down trees and toss jaguars into the air. A ground-dwelling herbivore, it walks both quadrupedally and bipedally, and generally leaves backwards-facing tracks. It lives in deep, cool caves, and communicates by howling and lowing. Though rare, it can be dangerous when it attacks in self-defense, so the Yanomami have a great respect for it.
This amazing cryptozoological dissertation ends with a finger pointed south; that is, to Brazil. The owhuama preferentially lives over there, just on the opposite side of the elaborate, circular Yanomami hut. The impenetrable jungle and the endless forested backwaters hide the identity of a creature from another time.
What is it?
Kenneth Campbell and Brad Rancy theorised that the mapinguari could be explained by spectacled bears seasonally coming down from the cold mountains during the winter, into Brazil's warmer climate, and these bears are quite monstrous-looking when they stand upright. However, as we have seen, every time this identity has been put to someone familiar with the mapinguari, it has been flatly rejected, and probably with good reason. As far as I can tell, spectacled bears have never been explicitly reported (either officially or unofficially) from further northeast than Peru's Madre de Dios region. Why has nobody in Brazil ever recognised these supposed migratory bears as bears? Furthermore, the spectacled bear's behaviour is not a good match. They are generally shy, attacking only when they or their young are threatened, and they're famously arboreal. The mapinguari is usually aggressive, surely too bulky to climb, and browses by tearing down trees, which would be a waste of time if it were arboreal. To explain Brazilian mapinguari sightings with spectacled bears requires us to accept that unusually large specimens of these bears seasonally migrate into, or already exist in, the Amazon, yet never behave anything like normal members of their species, and have never been identified as what they are by the 100 or so people who've seen them. Going down the bear route, some unknown species, or perhaps even a surviving Arctotherium, seems more likely than a spectacled bear. And this might be explaining one unknown with another, but cryptid bears have been reported from the Amazon and the Andes: the gigantic milne of the Ucayali, the red-furred bear of the Muscarena Mountains, and the pygmy brown bear of Yanachaga-Chemillén.
The early cryptozoologists saw the mapinguari as a giant primate, possibly a howler monkey, as suggested by Dale A. Drinnon. There is no precedence for a giant Amazonian monkey in the fossil record (with all the Pleistocene giant monkeys coming from the Atlantic Forest), but, as will be seen below, this means little. But although some mapinguari sightings might refer to monkeys, the size, bulk, claws, and terrestrial lifestyle of Oren's mapinguari all speak against a uniform monkey identity. Also, as we've seen, a clawed animal which can not be a monkey has still been described as one. A giant peccary is another feasible possibility, although peccaries cannot stand on their hind legs, and Marc Van Roosmalen's research suggests it's possible that the larger they get, the better they smell.
It was of course David Oren who first proposed that the mapinguari could be an extant ground sloth. At first he argued this based on small points such as tracks, faeces, diet, and behaviour, but after interviewing the seven hunters, the physical description also became very sloth-like. I probably don't need to point out the many similarities (and the discrepancies) in all the physical descriptions, and how they generally conform to a cow-sized ground sloth; but alongside the more obvious features, Oren suggested that, because of the inward curvature of a ground sloth's tracks, anyone seeing a series of them might interpret them the wrong way around, leading to a belief that the animal has backwards feet; and the round, "bottle" track said to be left by the mapinguari may be the imprint of a ground sloth's powerful tail. But assuming it is a ground sloth, its familial placement has been the subject of controversy, since some have claimed that the mapinguari combines the traits of different sloth families. This really comes down to the fact that it has both canine teeth and, supposedly, osteoderms (little pieces of bone armour beneath its skin, which Oren suggests would explain its invulnerability). Osteoderms are a feature of mylodontids and scelidotheriids, whereas canines are a feature of megalonychids (or so we're often told).
But does the mapinguari need osteoderms to be bulletproof? Even tree sloths have remarkable vitality, and the combination of matted hair, a powerful ribcage, and perhaps tough soft tissue could be enough to stop a bullet, without even mentioning the possibility that "bulletproof" mapinguaris could simply wander off to die slowly. True, the kida harara has both long fangs and "pebbles" under its skin, but the Karitiana might have incorporated memories of an extinct mylodontid into an extant megalonychid, since they could hardly know for sure that it has osteoderms without killing and dissecting one. On the other hand, there was in fact a mylodontid, Glossotherium robustum, which had both osteoderms and sexually-dimorphic caniniforms, and it did live in the Amazonian savannahs, but it's thought to have been a mixed feeder with a preference for grazing in open habitats. But trying to make such a specific identification is probably a mistake, and in any case, the mapinguari might not even be known from the fossil record—despite Heuvelmans' theory, the mapinguari could a rainforest specialist which lived in what remained of the rainforest during the ice age, and as far as I know, no unambiguous Late Pleistocene rainforest assemblages are known from the Amazonian region. There's also the remote possibility that more than one type of ground sloth has survived in the Amazon. One problem with a ground sloth identity, which Oren admits, is the mapinguari's tail, described as short, short and broad, or, on one occasion, large and thick. Ground sloths had relatively long, broad tails.
While the segamai, ujea, and owhuama could feasibly be folk memories of ground sloths, the mapinguari surely could not: 100 people did not see, and 7 hunters did not shoot, a memory. And reading descriptions of the kida harara, I was struck by the fact that the descriptions gathered from random, non-eyewitness Karitiana by anthropologist Felipe Velden are often quite contradictary, and not very sloth-like. This begs the question: if the kida harara is merely a cultural memory of a ground sloth, part of a shared Karitiana folklore, then why are the people who claim to have seen it for themselves the only ones to accurately describe a ground sloth?
The future
Writing in 1993, Oren feared that the mapinguari had recently become extinct: first-hand reports from Amapá in northeast Amazonas all came from elderly woodsmen, and Oren had no records of any sightings from the Tapajós Basin dating to within the previous twenty years. However, while he believed that it had very recently been extirpated from the eastern Amazon, he thought that small numbers could still exist in the far west of the Brazilian Amazon, in Amazonas and Acre, and sightings from the west have been reported into the 21st Century. While many zoologists and palaeontologists consider its existence unlikely, within cryptozoology it is often brought up as one of the cryptids most likely to be real. Karl Shuker, for instance, considers it possibly "one of the most likely creatures in the cryptozoological annals to be officially unveiled one day by science," while Richard Freeman lists it as one of the ten cryptids most likely to be discovered in the 21st Century.
To conclude, Bernard Heuvelmans suggested in 1955 that ground sloths might be found in the Amazon, and decades later he was justified by David Oren, who came to believe that descriptions of the mapinguari referred to a ground sloth. When he made this proposal, the data he had was suggestive of a ground sloth in the little details, such as tracks and faeces, rather than in the full description, which was not entirely sloth-like. But he was later backed up by the hunters' descriptions, which painted a picture of a very ground sloth-like animal. Now Shuker and Freeman suggest that the mapinguari's existence may be proven in the 21st Century. Will they too be justified?
Sightings map
I've pinned some mapinguari sightings (and others from Canada, the U.S., Central America, and Patagonia) onto a map using Google Maps. (?) denotes that the location of the sighting is known only vaguely; O that the sighting is placed relatively securely; (O) that it is placed with some certainty; and 🌊 that the sighting occurred at any possible point along the marked body of water. Of course the reason why most of these sightings occur along rivers and near towns or plantations is because that's where people are most likely to come into contact with a rare forest animal.

2020.10.15 18:38 walkingonairglow I’m 27, work as an Administrative Assistant in Albany, NY, and this week I spent some of my money on cider donuts

(Oops, I forgot the flair...)
Assets and Debt:
Retirement balance: $7000. I started my 401(k) when I was eligible at my current company and have put in 13% since.
Savings account balance: $14,000
Checking account balance: $11,000
Credit card balance: $1100 when the diary starts, which is my spending since my August statement date. September’s statement balance gets paid off during the diary.
Student loan balance: $12,900 from a degree in English because I intended to be a technical writer. Currently on pandemic forbearance.
Car loan: $1900 when the diary starts
Income Progression
I really have nothing to say for myself. I had a $10/hour internship in technical writing when I was in college, and since then I’ve had one $17/hour job anywhere near that field (I did layout and proofreading), and otherwise worked retail while trying to get a job. Finally I got my current job which was $19/hour when I started and now closer to $20/hour.
TWO PAYCHECK MONTH: $2100 after $410 to my 401(k), $64 for health/dental/vision insurance, and taxes
THREE PAYCHECK MONTH: $3250 after $615 to my 401(k), $96 for health/dental/vision insurance, and taxes (October is a three paycheck month for me.)
Side job monthly takehome: $100-$150, PRE-TAX since it’s paid on a 1099
My partner and I do not pool our incomes. After the household bills he pays and the ones I pay, we have about the same amount remaining. I’m being vague about his job and income partly for his privacy and partly because I think it would be identifying.
Monthly fixed expenses
My partner pays rent, gas, and electric in full, it’s $1500 or less depending on gas and electric use
Auto + renter’s insurance: $200 (I pay in full)
Internet: $75 (I pay in full)
Trash: $26 (I pay in full)
(Edit for clarity: Neither of us gives the other any money toward the bills we each pay. I do not give him any money towards rent. I effectively do not pay rent and he effectively does not pay the smaller bills.)
Phone: $25 (my line on a family plan. My parents pay for 30 gigs of data to be shared by everyone on the plan.)
Car payment: $300 minimum (but I’ve been paying $900 to finish it off)
Student loan payment: $205 (not due so I’m not paying it until the forbearance ends. I am saving it with the intent of sending it to the loans: $1640 so far.)
Donations: $10 per paycheck goes into a ‘donation fund’, which I use when I see something to donate to
Yearly fixed expenses
$50 Sam’s Club membership
$20 Microsoft 365 subscription (I pay my parents for my share of a family plan, and to be honest they refused the money this year because of the pandemic)
Financial background questions
Was there an expectation for you to attend higher education?
Yes, but I wonder how much of that was that we were interested in fields that required it. My mom has a lot of family members who were very successful in blue collar jobs, so I can’t imagine she’d have insisted we go to college if we had other plans.
Did you participate in higher education and how did you pay for it?
I have a bachelor’s degree in English. I had a half-tuition scholarship, took out the max in federal loans, put in what money I could, and my parents paid some. I would have had to take out a small private loan but other relatives loaned me the money with no interest. (I’ve paid them back.)
Growing up, what kind of conversations did you have about money? Did your parent/guardian(s) educate you about finances?
We never discussed my parents’ finances with specific numbers, but they were very clear about their philosophy of managing their spending on small things in order to afford the big things that mattered to them. When they gave us an allowance there were rules about saving and donating percentages of it, and they educated us on things like credit cards, student loans, and saving for retirement.
What was your first job and why did you get it?
Summer nanny because my parents knew the family and suggested it. After that, the internship because my parents suggested it and I wanted spending money while in college, since I’d spend most of my savings.
Did you worry about money growing up?
Only once that I can think of, when my mom mentioned she might have to get a job. (She’d always wanted to be a stay at home mom and we all knew it, so that was pretty jarring.)
Do you worry about money now?
I worry about everything, so yes. (And of course the pandemic has only made that worse.)
At what age did you become financially responsible for yourself?
Never, if you count being on family plans and not splitting household expenses evenly. In terms of paying household bills, buying groceries, etc, at 24 when I moved out of my parents’ house to be with my partner (who’d recently moved too).
Do you have a financial safety net?
I’m sure my family would give me/us money if we needed it. My partner’s family would probably offer too, but given their financial situation I wouldn’t want to accept.
Do you or have you ever received passive or inherited income?
$1,000 after a relative died. I wanted to use it toward a special trip in memory of him (to a foreign country), but then COVID happened so I guess I’ll have to find something else special to do with it. Or just throw it at my student loans.

Day 1- Thursday
Morning- My partner's alarm goes off. He snoozes a couple times, then gets up and ready for work, coming in to kiss me goodbye before leaving. I go back to sleep and have a nice dream about going to a dance with him, and going to a lake just outside the door to sit with our feet in the water. Then my alarm goes off and I wake up and get ready for work. I remember I still have laundry in the dryer that I forgot to fold last night-- oops. On the way to work I play along with a quiz on the radio-- I liked it more when it was more general knowledge questions, now it's mostly current events which I'm terrible at.
Lunchtime- Work's been quiet all morning. I got to chat with some coworkers about the storm and power outages last night. I didn't realize how much I need these little interactions until I went without them for two months due to the shutdown. We can't use the microwave or fridge at work due to COVID, so I'm glad I live close enough to head home for lunch. I have a leftover Korean Inspired Chicken Bowl (I used russets since my partner doesn't like sweet potatoes, and we ran out of gochujang so I added some sriracha) and a chocolate pudding cup. Check the New York Forward site for the latest COVID statistics.
Afternoon- A coworker shows me a gadget she brought in to heat up cups of water for tea. This is an awesome idea, since the hot water tap is also off due to COVID. I might have to get one myself.
After work- I head home, have an apple cider donut from a local farm for a snack, and work on my side hustle. My partner’s picking up chicken for dinner, and I cook Mrs. T's perogies to go with it, since my mom texted me that today is National Perogi Day. I would have liked to get homemade perogis, but the only place we know is pretty far away. Partner pays for the chicken, $28 with tip, and we eat when he gets home.
Evening- I go to get the clothes out of the driver and find I never turned it on. Eep. I dry them and fold them, and realize there's a hole in my jeans, so I order a new pair. I look to see if there's anything worth adding to get free shipping... and I end up adding some masks. I'd been not buying any that I liked as a safe smidge of rebellion (I'll wear it but I won't pretend to enjoy it!) and in hopes that maybe someday I can stop wearing them, but I guess I give up. ($60.34) I drink half a Sparkling Ice and write and play around online until bed. The fountain pen I'm using runs dry, so I clean it and change colors to Diamine Oxblood.
Daily total: $60.34
Day 2- Friday
Morning- Much the same as yesterday except I dream about a wild boarding school and a store of elaborate doll-sized clothes. Before heading to work I check the thermostat-- the house has been staying warm enough I still haven't turned the heat on. Looks like it might have to go on today but I'll wait until we're home for the evening.
Lunchtime- Another quiet morning. I head home and heat up leftover Chicken and Black Bean Soup (no tortilla chips and no jalapeno... but I wish I'd put in the jalapeno since I couldn't get Rotel so I used the Del Monte version and it's not as spicy). It is nice to be able to heat the soup on the stove. I start working on my grocery list for tonight. Normally I shop Sunday or Monday, we eat homecooked all week, and then get takeout (or eat out, pre-COVID) on the weekends, but my partner has to work late this month so we've shifted the takeout to during the work week. I get a notification from Prism that my credit card bill has been paid-- I have it paid three business days before the due date. The balance is now around $450. I eat a couple Cadbury candy-coated eggs (I bought a giant bag around Easter but didn’t open it until June) and check NY Forward for COVID stats.
After work- Oh good, no deluge of work at 4:05. I head home, have an apple cider donut, and work on my side hustle for a bit. I check the prompt for Flash Fiction Friday (a weekly event where you have 24 hours to write a 100-1,000 word piece inspired by the prompt) so I can start thinking about it while I shop and cook. Ooh, “blood on my name”? Interesting.
Dinnertime- I go to the grocery store and buy ingredients for four dinners (well, three and a bit: I have almost everything for tonight’s), and Polar Seltzer, plus a couple household items: CLR and Goo Gone. Also sugar and butter since I have coupons to get one of each for $0.99. ($72.28) I hate grocery shopping since the pandemic because of the masks and one-way aisles and because I have to pack my own bags so I’m always afraid I’m taking too long and the person behind me in line is judging me. I get home just as my partner gets home, and get to work on dinner which is Balsamic Mushrooms and Herby Kale Mashed Potatoes. While it’s cooking I wash dishes, since I’ve let my lunch containers pile up. It’s late by the time we eat.
Late evening- My partner opens an Ommegang Witte and sits down to watch video game streaming. I join him for a bit and share part of the beer. Then I do a little more work on my side hustle, and write and post my flash fiction piece. I see Birmingham Pen Co. has released some new inks– they’re rereleasing old colors, now made completely handmade– but not the one I’m most interested in so I [browser-]window shop but don’t order anything. Thanks to dinner and dishwashing the house has warmed up to 73– the furnace is staying off another night!
Daily total: $72.28
Day 3- Saturday
Morning- I get up around 9 on weekends. I take a shower, then work on my side hustle and play around online. My partner stays up late on weekend nights so he won’t be up for a while. I realize I should make the payment to my car loan while I’m thinking about it. The due date is the 15th, but my student loan due date was the 6th, so when I switched from focusing on student loans to focusing on my car I decided to pay everything around the 6th. Then student loans went on forbearance, extra payments pushed my car loan due date to like January ’21, and I’ve become super lax about when I pay it. I make the payment– now I should only have two left!
Noonish- I make slow cooker chili for dinner tonight. (My partner found the recipe originally, no idea where he got it, but I can tell you it calls for cocoa powder and sugar and we sub in chocolate chips instead.) and wash some dishes. I check NY Forward. Partner gets up and we order subs from an Italian deli for lunch. I spot my absentee ballot sitting on my desk, so I grab it, vote, and stick it in the mail when we leave.
Afternoon/Evening- We go pick up the subs– partner goes in and pays, based on past experience it’s around $25– and then go to a farm to pick a pumpkin ($8). While we’re there we stand in a long line for cider donuts ($8.75 for a dozen), and then go visit their animals– mostly goats and chickens plus a cow and a sheep. By the time we’re heading home we realize there’s no way we’ll want dinner if we eat the subs, so when we get home I turn off the slow cooker and eventually stick the crock in the fridge. We eat the subs and then I go back to my usual (side hustle, writing, playing around online, +/- Spotify and YouTube). I check the payment platform for my side hustle and have over $50 sitting there, so I withdraw $50 to my savings account. Head to bed at midnight.
Daily total: $16.75
Day 4- Sunday
Morning- Get up around 9, sit around in my pajamas for a while before convincing myself to get dressed. I have a cider donut (and a couple candy-coated eggs) and then watch livestream Mass from my partner’s old church. I haven’t been to church in person since the shutdown, and I’ve been rotating what church I watch every week: my church, my parents’, my college, churches I’ve been to on vacation. Then I play some Animal Crossing– I haven’t played in a while so I’ve been missing the fall features. My best friend and I had discussed playing together after she got her island set up, so I give her a text. She says she’s going to see her parents right now but maybe later.
Afternoon- Heat up leftover steak for lunch, grab a Sparkling Ice, and turn on the football game. I listen to the radio broadcast online while watching the animated game updates on the ESPN website. Really miss being able to watch my hometown teams on TV. (My parents let me use their cable subscription online, so I can watch if my team is being shown nationwide, but it’s a 1:00 game today so teams local to where I live now are also playing.) Put the chili back on for dinner tonight.
Late afternoon- Partner washes dishes. I write and watch YouTube. Consider texting my friend to ask if she’s ready for Animal Crossing but I told her to let me know and I don’t want to bug her.
Evening- Chili for dinner, and I open the last Ommegang Witte. After dinner my partner goes to the grocery store– I’d asked him to make chicken noodle soup or chicken broccoli and rice this week but he hadn’t gotten back to me on which so I didn’t buy the ingredients on Friday. He asks if I want anything, I say maybe maple cream Oreos? He returns with ingredients, gochujang, the Oreos, and Sun Chips, having spent $19 plus $5 in rewards points. After more of my usual I take a shower and head to bed at 11:30, my ‘work night’ bedtime.
Daily total: 0
Day 5- Monday
Morning- My partner snoozes, then gets up. He doesn’t kiss me goodbye and I hear him zoom off down the street, so I assume he just found out he needs to be at work ASAP. Before my alarm goes off I dream about using my telescope in my parents’ driveway. On the way to work I have to wait for someone to finish pulling out of a driveway, then let someone else pull out of their driveway to get in front of them… and after all that they both pull into a Stewarts a couple hundred feet down the road. I’m confused.
Lunchtime- Head home and eat leftover pizza for lunch, along with some Sun Chips and a couple of the candy-coated eggs. Check NY Forward.
Afternoon- I have a meeting with a manager to discuss a project I’m working on for his department. To my surprise, I find out that he also wants me to start doing some writing for his department! What?! I think I manage to be cool and matter-of-fact about this but I feel like jumping up and down.
After work- I’m making a pork roast for dinner, so– after quickly looking up how tightly to wrap it, the recipe is not specific and I’ve never done this before– I get it in the oven. Have more Sun Chips and a couple Oreos for a snack. Work on my side hustle. By the time I put potatoes in the oven to roast for a side, the smell of the roasting pork is about to make me cry. It’s my mom’s recipe so it smells like home, and during a pandemic when they live in a different state whose new cases have just gone over 10 per 100k so my state’s governor is about to announce a travel ban (well, not a ban, a required 14-day quarantine after returning, and I can’t afford that), that’s almost too much to take.
Evening- Obviously it takes a long time to roast the roast, so we eat late. I saw this coming, but Saturday threw everything off and I didn’t want to freeze the roast. My partner is super happy with the pork and with the side, garlic roast potatoes and asparagus. I only used half the potatoes and asparagus, figuring I’ll make the other half fresh to go with the leftover half of the roast. After dinner I drink half a Sparkling Ice and do my usual until bedtime. Saturday was warm and today the oven warmed the house, so I still haven’t turned on the heat.
Daily total: 0
Day 6- Tuesday
Early morning- Wake up after a dream about my grandpa dying. My mind goes straight to memories of my other grandpa dying, and it takes me a while to get back to sleep.
Morning- Typical morning routine. I remember to take the garbage out to the curb, which is not as typical as it should be.
Lunchtime- Head home, heat up leftover chili. My car is dinging about tire pressure so I’ll need to add ‘winter air’, but it’s clammy out today so I think I’ll do it tomorrow when it’s supposed to be warmer and sunny. Check NY Forward. Travel advisories not announced yet.
Afternoon- Work is dragging, and to top it off I hear a coworker tell another that she’s going to tell her a secret later. My brain being what it is, I quietly freak out that the secret is either gossip about me, or news that I’m going to be fired.
After work- Get home, bring in the trash can, check the mail and my clothing order is here. I spend a good 15 minutes trying on the jeans to decide if they fit weird and eventually decide I’m okay with them. On the bright side, they have full front pockets now! Full as in my entire phone fits into them! (This should not be so rare.) Also in the mail was the internet bill, so I schedule that in Prism. Snack on a cider donut, work on side hustle. I brace myself and check the travel advisories… and my parents’ state is not one of them? I check the Global Epidemics map– yep, it went back down to just below 10 per 100k.
Evening- Make Pork Chops in Mushroom Paprika Sauce, an old favorite– except not quite, my partner request I use cubed pork this time so it’s even more stroganoff-y. Partner gets home and we eat and then hang out for a while. Then I take a shower, a bit of my usual, and head to bed after finally turning on the heat.
Daily total: 0
Day 7- Wednesday
Morning- Morning routine and head to work. Unusually for me, I don’t remember my dream.
Lunchtime- Head home and heat up leftovers from last night. Eat a couple Oreos– we’re 2/3 of the way through the pack so I’m definitely going to be buying more of these when I shop on Friday. I remembered they were good but forgot how good.
After work: Get gas for the first time in a month. I think the farthest we’ve been from home is the cider donuts and goats farm, and we took my partner’s car both times we went there. The pump shuts off before the tank is full and I can't get it going again, so I leave with 3/4 of a tank. ($18.85) When I get home I put air in the tires, replace the worn-out twist tie on the compressor cord with a Velcro cord wrap, and Snapchat my mom thanks for letting me take some from her giant pack of cord wraps the last time I was home. (I knew I wanted them for something.) Cider donut for a snack, work on side hustle. Check Pocketguard to see if my car loan balance has been updated yet, which it hasn’t, but… uh… the employer contribution to my 401(k) has been made and it’s $700? That’s way more than I was expecting. I’m only 20% vested but still. A nice surprise. And more good news– the certificates for completing Writer’s Month (sorta like NaNoWriMo for shorter pieces– you have to fill 31 prompts in around 40 days) are out! I’m pretty proud of myself for finishing.
Dinnertime- Partner arrives home (much earlier than the last two days) with a pint of Pumpkin to Talk About ice cream he picked up while getting a coffee. Yay! I make the potato and asparagus side again and heat up the pork and gravy, and we have dinner. Then I drink half a Sparkling Ice and write for a bit, until the fountain pen I’m using– the one I didn’t clean and fill last week– runs dry.
After dinner: I always call my mom on Wednesday nights and she always puts me on speaker so I can ‘hang out’ with her, my dad, and any siblings who are around. I always put her on speaker too because of the length of the calls, and so if I have a pen to clean I can do that while we talk. I clean the pen and fill it with Robert Oster Gold Antiqua. We talk until almost midnight– the except to the work night bedtime is my calls with Mom.
Daily total: $18.85
Total spending:
Food & Drink: $67.55
Fun & Entertainment: $8
Home/Health: $13.48
Clothes & Beauty: $60.34
Transport: $18.85
Other: 0
Grand total: $168.22
This was an average-to-high spending week for me. I hadn’t bought clothes since March, and I only got gas every two to three weeks even before the pandemic. Between naturally being a saver and going a total of two years without a full-time job after college, I’m really good at not spending money on myself. Part of this is being really good at not buying things to try to fill a void they can't fill, which has been a useful skill since the pandemic began and left me with so much void that no thing can fill.

2020.10.12 22:27 investing-scientist2 FastInvest scores only 2.78 out of 5.0 in my meta-review

Today I looked for FastInvest reviews published or updated withing the last six months. I was only interested in those of them that gave a final score (it was always a system of five stars, with five meaning highest score). I also looked for opinions at portals, such as Trustpilot. With that I calculated an overall score for FastInvest, which turned out to be as low as 2.78 out of 5.0. Below, I'm showing details for that simple calculation, plus some basic data about this P2P lending platform.
Overall, I'm absolutely NOT recommending putting your money into this platform.

FastInvest: key facts

Methodology and Results
I was looking for sources of data by googling "Fastinvest review", "Fastinvest Erfahrungen" etc. I did the search in English, German, Spanish and Italian. From a list of found reviews I only kept those published or updated in the last six months and providing an overall score for the platform. In this way I got five reviews and scores from three portals with people's opinions. Here are the details.

  1. P2P Empire (
  1. Jean Galea (

  1. Marco Schwartz (

  1. P2P Lending Sites (

  1. P2P Platforms (
Based on those reviews, mean overall score is 2.95.

Opinions from portals

  1. Trustpilot (
Mean score 2.6 based on 806 votes.
Worth noting, plenty of people express their doubts about FastInvest credibility, mostly because of delayed withdrawals (orders dating back April-May or so) and some guys claim FastInvest is a scam.
  1. Sitejabber (
Score of 3.0 based on 1 review.
  1. Google Reviews (,1,,,)
Score of 2.5, based on 31 reviews.

Weighted average (accounting for the number of people who voted in each poll): (2.6 * 806 + 3.0 * 1 + 2.5 * 31) / (806 + 1 + 31) = 2.6
The final FastInvest Score is a mean value of “mean overall score” from reviews and “weighted average” from portals:

FastInvest Score = 2.78

Compare with:

Complementary information

Social media
FastInvest communicates with its customers and others through their blog (, however there have been no posts for two months now. They also have some social media accounts, including Twitter (, where last tweet dates back to June...
Contact with customers
FastInvest extremely rarely communicates with its customers. There are no updates on the current condition of the platform, their strategy to fight COVID-related crisis and no updates on loan originators.
Four days ago I received a messade that my KYC document (passport photo) ws rejected. Worth noting, I submitted the documents a couple of months ago. And exactly the same photo of passport was accepted by all other P2P platforms in my portfolio. in my opinion, this is just a play to delay any withdrawals.

Do I invest with Fastinvest?
Unfortunately, FastInvest is part of my P2P lending portfolio.

2020.10.05 07:21 lordhexfuzz Finally ditching the old gaming laptop for a multipurpose $2K-2.5Kish build ~~ AMD Ryzen 9 3900X && Asus GeForce RTX 3080 OR MAYBE something else???? [Canadian]

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
What do I use my computer for? I'm in college for coding & design, so I run Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Android Studio & Emulating for coding. For design: Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Blender (low level renders so far). In the future I plan on doing gaming (obviously), I also want to branch out to streaming as well as YouTube video creation & editing. So Premier Pro, and Davinci. Maybe in the future some after effects or blender for amateur film stuff. Lots of productivity stuff day to day- Lots of chrome tabs, discord, Spotify, etc. in the background.
What games do I want to play and what settings? Pretty high task games and as mentioned before I’ve been budget gaming for a while I want some good sh!* now. I like FPSs mostly. Games: Doom Eternal, Halo MCC, r6siege, Borderlands series, Witcher 3, Fallen order, Destiny 2, Tomb Raider, civ6, etc. and basically anything I want to play, I don’t want to be limited.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
$2K is ideal but chances are it will be closer to $2.5K technically I can go higher but I don’t think I need to
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
As soon as possible but I may wait for Cyber Monday & the AMD launch upcoming.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Everything but OS, second monitors, keyboard, mouse, HDDs are optional.
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
Canada-Southern Ontario. Can travel to Toronto.
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
I use a Corsair Nightsword (I opted for this over the classic Logitech G502) and I have a Razer keyboard that needs replacing with quieter keys and a new model. I am open to suggestions on the keyboard, I have a Razer Kraken Headset already.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
I don’t really know enough to overclock yet, I don’t even know if it’s worth it, so maybe? I must do more research before I can answer this question perfectly. But I’m definitely interested int it.
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
You can refer to my use section and I will be including the build I have made so far
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Whatever can hold all my parts so probably a mid/full tower. Black is safe. I’m not a fan of rainbow RGBs but I kinda like the idea of being able to control the RGB theme to one or more colors like I can on My corsair mouse and many keyboards.
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
I will be using 10 Pro probably, I don’t need it included
Extra info or particulars: Below is what I have written to share around for help/advice, some stuff is repeated but it's worth reading in context (i think)
Hi everyone, Hex here! Looking for some advice, opinions or at the very least confirmation. Here’s all my info below! Enjoy and thanks for any thoughts, opinions or advice in advance!
For some background: I've been budget gaming my whole life on 1080p laptops or (friends') PC rigs. My current everyday computer: Dell Inspiron Gaming laptop (here's a link: Dell Inspiron Amazon (I don't 100% know if this is the exact model) Specs: i5-7300HQ CPU u/2.5GHz , 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, 1TB HDD. I bought it second hand 2 years ago for college at $800 online from someone, I think it goes for $600 now second hand. It’s actually served me pretty well (for gaming, school and everyday use) other than blue screening and lately feeling a lot more slowdowns in everyday use & Android Studio type tasks (but this may be software/my fault for not cleaning or something).
So after 8-16+hrs of research (I haven't been following the latest PC build news for a while), I have put together a build. Here it is (so far):

What I used for research: I started with benchmark lists, mixed with Newegg searches to narrow down/cross off items, quantitative research. Then I started more opinion & qualitative research, I watched some LTT and then some very specific comparison videos when needed I have a spreadsheet, a playlist of videos, etc. (I get a hard on for organization), I can share these & reference some of the stuff I've read if people are interested.
My level of experience: I have a decent amount of knowledge about computers and I built some stuf maybe 5+ years ago and have friends that build PCs and are actual enthusiasts so I have soaked some knowledge and I know how to use good ol’ Google but I have never build my own rig before.
Why did I choose the parts I did? I focused on GPU & CPU first. I looked up ranking lists for both and had a lot of trouble picking between Intel & AMD processors, at first I thought AMD and got confirmation from a computer store guy and a few YouTube videos then with more research into benchmarking for gaming I saw that intel was top. But then after doing more research I decided because I’d be doing more than just gaming, I would probably like the extra CPU power for tasks w/more core/threads and I liked the value I was getting from AMD vs. Intel: Like a stock fan, just simply cheaper prices as well as cheaper compatible motherboards and more forward & backwards compatibility with AM4. With the GPU I first thought I’d go with a GTX2070 for price but my s/o recommended I upgrade to a new GTX 3080 and with some research on the new jump in processing I decided it was worth it to me. My only worry is the issues surrounding the new GTX 3080 cards. I chose the Asus TUF version originally because it matched my MO but also because I have some bias towards Asus and then with more research I found that the ASUS TUF GTX 3080 was the best, with better cooling than the Founders Edition as well as the heatsync, etc. and not having crashing issues. For the MO I chose the Asus TUF because on a benchmarking site I saw it was the most used MO in combination with a 3900X CPU, a combination of that list of most used MOs as well as best selling/best rated on Newegg I thought the ASUS TUF MO was a good value and had no problems with the overall look. This is not something I’m certain about, I don’t want my MO to be a bottleneck but I don’t really need a lot more than casual usage, I highly doubt I will want to do any overclocking but I also don’t want my MO to limit or bottleneck and I do care about aesthetics. For a CPU cooler I plan on trying the stock AMD Wraith Prism cooler but I was planning on using the classic (if needed) ol’ reliable Cooler Master Hyper 212 because other more expensive coolers don’t seem to give more cooling for the price- ESPECIALLY AIO! But maybe Corsair or Noctuna (black) or anything else recommended, if it’s really worth the price jump. For RAM I found that 16GB is about enough for gaming but I wanted to make the jump to 32GB while still leaving space for upgrading so I chose the 2x16GB ol’ reliable Corsair Vengeance LPXs. For SSD & Power Supply I kind of just picked the best rated/best selling/best value items. But especially for SSD I don't want to make a bottleneck there, I chose a 1TB but I would like to potentially have more or at least have the space to upgrade, I also don’t know if I chose the best SSD version for value, I also definitely want more space, maybe more SSD if necessary (I currently can fill a 1TB with OS, games and software, so maybe upgrade to a 2TB SSD or more and then HDDs for storage, either right away or as I need it. So what’s left? The case! I am going to start looking but I’m open to suggestions, I don’t want to spend more than $2-300 ideally (going over the $2k price point), but it really depends on what my research reveals. Lastly all this could be all for nothing with AMD launches coming up as well as Cyber Monday sales, I’m not in an immediate hurry and I want to do this right which is why I’m asking for criticism, advice and/or opinions, etc.
Do I have a monitor? I just recently got two 1080p Asus monitors second hand for a good price (that have displayport wowwee) for secondary screens for work/school with a middle laptop, my plan is to get a middle screen for gaming and have a three screen setup, my budget is ideally under $1000, and comfortably below $800. I have looked at 4k displays & information (Linus Tech Tips, etc.) and don’t think the 4k 60fps sacrifice is worth it or worth the price to jump to something like the ASUS ROG Swift 4K 144Hz PG27UQ which is basically as expensive as my whole PC (wtf), so overall I’m looking to get something 120 or 144hz and lower quality? because this is apparently more important for gaming, and probably more so than the jump to 4K (but who knows what the future holds there).
What aesthetics are important to me? I’m not a big fan of rainbow RGB builds but I’ve taken some care to choose MO & coolers, (no case yet), that are relatively nice to my eyes. Aesthetics are not my #1 priority, performance is, but I would like to do a glass sided case and have a nice look ideally. I don’t really know much about RGB stuff so I’m curious what control I could have- I’d like to be able to set themes like all orange, green or red or something. But mainly I’m going for black for parts. I don’t want to shell out a lot of money for aesthetics and I definitely don’t want to sacrifice performance.
Thanks for reading and I will update/reply with more info (as if that’s not enough) if I think of stuff.
Cheers, ~Hex

2020.09.18 15:31 Infinity315 The case for $OLN

What does $OLN (Olin Corporation) and $VSTO do?
OLN produces chemical products, but most importantly they produce ammunition (it makes up about 10% of their business). From their website, they're the largest supplier of ammunition in the United States. They own Winchester. In addition, they're also one of the largest producers of bleach in NA; which can be used to sanitize things (hurray?). VSTO sells ammunition in addition to providing shooting ranges. However, I think VSTO is a bit overvalued rn. According to the price to book ratio, OLN is currently undervalued.
Olin and VSTO will go up in price due to fears arising from the 2020 presidential election. Trump Republicans will buy ammo and guns out of fear that the feds will take their guns if Biden wins. Especially if the protests are not quelled soon.
Supporting evidence:
1. It has been observed (supposedly) that conservatives/republicans are more fear-driven.
“Conservatives tend to focus on the negative … To many conservatives, the world may look like a much scarier place … Conservatives have a stronger physiological response to threats … Conservatives’ brains are more reactive to fear.”
2. Google trends indicate a spike in interest for ammo prior to elections.
Keep in mind this when reading the trend graphs (especially 2012):
” Numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart for the given region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity for the term. A value of 50 means that the term is half as popular. A score of 0 means there was not enough data for this term.” - Google
2016 : (Notice how the states with the most interest voted red? Wyoming, Alaska, West Virginia, Montana)
2012 (keep in mind this is 2012; the supposed end of the world, however, it still indicates a spike in interest at November) :
(Red states again have the most interest: Wyoming, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Alaska, Arkansas)
2008: (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
3. Google trends for BLM and Antifa for the past 12 months:
Notice the majority interest is from red states and not blue states? Why would red states be more interested in what is generally regarded as Liberal or blue groups than democrats and liberals? Trump Republicans are very much scared / hate these groups.
BLM: (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
Antifa (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana)
Chaz (Regions with most interest: Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Washington)
4. The stock market seems to follow a similar trend with spikes around November:
5. The rhetoric Trump and his campaign is feeding his supporters:
“President @realDonaldTrump: “The rhetoric of Biden and the Radical Left puts your law enforcement in serious danger””
“President @realDonaldTrump: “Biden will hand the left-wing mob the keys to your kids’ classroom"”
Trump text: (ignore the right-hand side)
Trump supporters have remained steadfast in their support for Trump. Trump has captured the loyalty of ~40% of the voting population that seems like they will never give up on him
6. Biden’s Platform:
Things that would be most concerning for pro-gun people (in my opinion)
“Require background checks for all gun sales.”
“Reduce stockpiling of weapons.”
“End the online sale of firearms and ammunition.”
7. There are concerns of ammo shortages, I suspect this will only get worse as the election comes near.
Google trends for "ammo shortage"
Google trends for "ammo in stock"
"Why not VSTO / Federal Premium Ammunition?"
Google trends indicate that Winchester ammunition occupies more headspace than Federal Premium Ammunition, however, considering that there is an expected ammo shortage, go for it.,winchester%20ammunition
My personal opinion:
Trump will likely increase the rhetoric, especially up until the very end of the election. The US is at it's greatest political divide since the civil war and the civil rights movement. This election will spark fear in both parties, potentially making some Democrats take up arms. Trump has also planted the idea that the election could be fraudulent in his supporters head's, meaning there is likely a significant portion of supporters who will stock up to "defend the constitution" or something like that. *****-----------------------------*****
Don’t skip this shit. If there is one thing you should not skip, it's this part.
Should you trust me?
Full disclosure, I’m a university student in Canada. I probably know less about US politics than many Americans. I study Computer Science with a minor in Math, meaning guns, and US politics is a field I'm not 100% familiar with and am not an expert. I've never owned or shot a gun in my life and don't plan on doing so anytime in the near future. I'm pretty much completely removed from any and all gun culture. I’ve been trading for just under a 3/4 of a year now. I’m admittedly extremely inexperienced with trading and have lost a significant portion of the money I put in on stupid trades and COVID. I can only afford 2 contracts atm and my options level is not high enough for diagonals (balance is too low). Make of that what you will with this information. Don't complain if my stupidity causes you to lose money, you're choosing to listen to a stupid person.
Finally, the play (my position):
15/01/2021 $13 and $12 strikes. OLN
No positions on VSTO, the premiums are a bit much.
I look forward to a sober voice to double-check my work and ensure I'm right (or wrong). Advice is welcome.
Edit an addendum:
So I attempted to gauge the demand and the outlook for the chemical products that OLN sells. Here are my findings:
The significant drop in OLN at April correlates with the drop in demand / prices for their products in April.
PVC has gone up 35% since april, OLN produces PVC precursors
Sodium Hypochlorite prices have been flat since april
Potassium Chloride / Potash seems to be making a recovery since april
Outlook for Caustic Soda seems positive, the price has increased
The outlook for epoxy seems somewhat neutral to somewhat negative, according to ICIS
Akali Price index is slightly negative
I tried finding price charts from the same sites, but unfortunately some were too outdated or did not exist at all.
Note: I could not find the actual prices of what OLN is selling their products, but I believe that these charts could give some idea.

2020.09.13 21:18 BloodyPassion Apple devices are being hacked

I'm telling right away - TL;DR - I,m facing unprecedented hacking attack on Apple family of devices and need help. I'm in San Francisco and need someone who can do forensics of my mac mini and help to protect myself from people attacking me.
I'm the owner of 2 Macbooks pro, mac mini, Ipad, Iphone and iwatch, 1 apple id and 3 gmail accounts.
Everything was fine till August 3. Well I was dumb enough to use 3 variants of the same password with all my accounts. Implementing 1password or another password manager I was delaying for quite some time out of laziness I guess. We use lastpass at work and I silently hate it so didn't want to deal with something like that at home. It was an introduction. I'lll try to be as brief and as detailed as I can now.
Some details became a blur because I'm literally on a verge of a nervous breakdown at the moment.
On August 3 all my email accounts including apple id were hacked. Taken over by someone for at least several hours. Among those only 1 account is main, others are secondary, for job search, another for facebook and ebay, and the last one - apple id - for dating sites.
I was able to restore access to my accounts using my phone number within several hours. I work in big tech and our company was attacked by some people who used texting phishing tactics. First I thought it was connected to work and even filed a ticket telling them that my phone is hacked (there was some weird behavior on the phone) but work stuff seemed unaffected and ticket was closed. Hackers also got to my NAS where I has some old movies and frankly lots of porn collected since 2007. NAS wasn't connected, I mean I didn't have access to it because my wifi point went offline and I didn't bother to go to landlords and set it up (we have internet from landlords, one ISP but 2 different networks) but they somehow were able to take the porn library out, not the files but links to them. The stuff was from torrents so I decided ti get rid of the NAS and its contents, moreover I watch porn legally online now, torrents were in the past.
For several weeks it was quiet. Meanwhile I got a membership from Lookout and Lifelock because I had pics of my documents in icloud library: ssn, driver's license, medical insurance cards, Russian passport etc. It was literally an identity theft. Meanwhile Lookout informed me that my credentials were on dark web monthly since January 2020 and my SSN is public information.
As I said, 3 week were quiet. And then it started. All my emails were taken over again. First I found hidden backups of my machines with some video files on my macbook. Tried to delete them using sudo - didn't work, not enough rights. WTF. Then I pulled all the needed info to the cloud and decided to wipe the macbook and install the OS from scratch. Laptop started acting weird fast and I wasn't able to shut it down. Force quit didn't work, fan sounded as if it's a plain and it's going to take off. I had an impression someone controls my machine and erased if from icloud. Well, that's what I thought. Next time when I turned it on, there was a password on a disk. Password that I didn't add. Attempt to log in recovery mode led to grey screen with a passcode which I didn't implement either. After next reboot I discovered firmware password which was removed by Mobile Kangaroo but as for disk they told me to change it, thank god ssd are cheap now. Machine became a brick without a new disk. Apple mac genius bar was able to remove the lost passcode and install the OS only today. Then I had an awful Saturday on September 6th - they almost induced hysteria by taking over my accounts many times during the day. I changed the passwords numerous times before it. I have 2FA, mixed, with sms and authenticator app. But still they were able bypass these steps and changed the passwords to my accounts. I was barely able to take the accounts back but then started thinking that they know what I type as new password and somehow know the 2FA code. It didn't feel right, Apple is so secure. So I switched to iphone - allegedly the most secure device and changed the passwords from it. It seemed to help.Meanwhile it turned out they downloaded the whole archive from my gmail account since 2009 - there is such functionality. And also all my icloud. I have no idea what emails they send and where and what they deleted when they controlled my account. I know nothing about hacking but I had an impression they used safari to go to some websites - such as datadog, howtogeek, appletoolbox and lookout/legal and trendmicro/legal. Btw I have 4 antivirus apps, none of them found anything. Then I installed Little snitch, saw some incoming connections, not sure what it was, and then noticed tht my chrome started having hundreds and then thousands of outgoing connections to different Ipv4 addresses. Packets were rather small though.
Nightmare just started. IT turned out they knew my gmail passwords that I set up from the phone - they just sat quietly and waited for something. My mac mini started showing strange file with extension .prefPane in recents and different system folders in history where I haven't been. Then I finally intalled Google Wifi app and discovered unknown machine with the same name as my mac mini and almost the same mac address. It was sitting on our wifi for a week and downloaded 46gb of data. I have a screenshot, not on this machine unfortunately. I shut down my mac mini and didn't turn it on since then. I started checking my devices and discovered that my work laptop laptop also had some .prefPane files in history and bunch of system folders which I didn't touch. I know almost nothing about macOS structure and can just look at hidden files, that's it. I was more than concerned, told InfoSec at work that something is happenning, had 3 hours conversation with 2 serious men who told me that according to the logs my work machine is safe but personal stuff is probably breached. Judging by the recent files showing up in dropbox, icloud and google drive. Files which I didn't touch t all and many of them have sensitive and confidential information, health-related for example. Right there I decided to implement 1password but with all the craziness and password changing everywhere I saw that it didn't help - they still were able to change the password and take account back to them. Or after I changed the password I saw 4 different devices having access to my gmail account. I changed my laster password several time and after 1password had 21 most important logins and vault with pretty valuable documents - I finally forgot my masterpassword. I remember the words but specil characters in the end are a blur - I was tired and couldn't focus and forgot to write it down. So farewell my stuff in 1 password - unless I find the right combination 1 day. I made a conclusion that they were able to see my screen. Btw they bought apowersoft from my account, I found 1 email they apparently forgot to delete but I didn't find the software on my machines.... Apple support said everything what I say happening is highly unlikely especially on ios devices since they have government level of protection. But I see that with my own eyes... Also there is an army of bluetooth beacons around me, in very residential neighborhood. Many of them are literally near according to BLE Scanner. There is also BlueZ 5.44 device which connected to my Iphone bluetooth without any permission from me. I have no idea for how long. I think that's how hacking started... Then I discovered that my calls and messages were forwarded to bunch of devices which has the same names as mine but there are several mac minis there etc. My google voice had 2 or 3 extra devices to forward to.... Btw who am I - mid level QA engineer who is just studying programming and trying to do some automation at work. My technical level is pretty low. I saved some money since I moved to America. Not a lot, San Francisco is expensive city. I was born and raised in Russia but never had access to any secret info or high ranking persons, no one can be influenced by pressure on me, I'm a regular gay guy who fled from difficult life and persecution of gays in Russia and been living here in SFBA for the last 7 years.... So I'm nobody but I had a feeling there is team with 24/7 surveillance on me - I even thought it's government but government can silently spy on you and the come with subpoena or arrest order. These guys literally torture. Later - more. I definitely notice my ios devices went rogue. Face id stopped working and I had to reset it every time. Today passcode stopped working and I couldn't unlock the phone - had to wipe it using recovery mode. Created 2 wifi networks at home, one already had 2 unknown apple devices, one of the mac addresses is again very similar to mine. The biggest torture of this weekend - untransferable authenticator app where I keep 2FA codes for work and personal stuff. I spent bunch of time on ipad, freshly wiped via roommates mac, adding the codes to new transferrable app and when was about to transfer, they used the encryption function of the app with the password which can't be reset. Authy, I hate you as much as 1password. So all my codes turned out to be locked and useless. I wiped my ipad clean and started from scratch with 2 different apps - one for work, another or personal stuff. You not gonna believe it - they suppressed internet on ipad. It's connected to wifi or mobile spot but there is no internet icon on the upper right and it's not connecting. How is it possible on ios? Then my passcode on apple watch changed by itself before that showing keyboard on my phone 3 times. Then face id stopped working and passcode on my iphone changed. I'm not kidding. It's after I finished collecting 2FA accounts again. So I can't open my phone! The work of a half day went to shit. Then I tried to turn off the passcode on ipad and it didn't work. Some items disappeared from ios menu, for example Siri and Search... I talked to Lifelock - they said they gonna monitor my ssn, name, etc, like they always do. Wrote to Lookout, they answered with phone number where I need to call. Also need to call FTC, number was given by Lifelock. No money disappeared from my accounts, my saving account is restricted, credit bureaus are frozen. I'm afraid with all that info they have about me they want to take over my apple id or just commit cyber crimes on my behalf. I'm scared and don't know what to do, how to protect myself and my devices from everything happening. I can't live normal life for the last 2 weeks. Thank god people were sympathetic at work but my friends din't really believe me saying Apple has high class protection from such shit. But I saw all that with my own eyes. It takes them about couple of days to hack a freshly wiped phone or ipad, and less than several hours - freshly wiped mac. My roomie's apple devices seem to be unaffected despite the fact he downloads tons of torrents. Btw one more thing - on August 13 Lookout informed me that sim card is taken out of my phon despite the phone was in my pocket. On August 22 Lookout sent notification that sim went online. There were couple of calls to ATT on my behalf that I didn't do. All in all I live in hell last 2 weeks and need to get out of this crazy situation. I looked for some cybersecurity firms but they all work with prevention and with corporations, not individuals. Also my facebook was taken over but I announced it hacked and it's blocked now and neither of us can regain access because I have the email and hackers added their phone where they get 2FA which I ned to log in. No one contacted me asking for ransom or anything. I don't understand what's going on. Please help.
